A decent quality solution for SPD and switch close to the meter.
A nicely packaged solution offering a type 2 SPD that can be mounted where a normal isolator would be, so well within the 50cm of the origin of the installation from the regs. Nice that it also gives the option to output two sets of tails, saving on separate blocks. Had no issues fitting it. Torque specs were provided, and the switch gear was seemingly good quality, as was the plastic casing. The bus bars linking the two outputs are designed so they stay in relatively easily even with the terminals open for terminating the tails, making installation easier. Would buy again.

Compact main supply SPD unit
A neat compact surge protector which has to be fead from the top, as unlike most SPDs which have the earth at the base this enclosure is so small and tight you cannot reverse the internal wiring. my picture shows the main tails which being 25mm do not like very tight bends. However it does the job ensuring fault currents travel a minimal distance to earth well within the 50cm recommended. This unit represents exceptional value for money and is much easier to install than the metalic versions.

Good value for money SPD solution
Seen these products around for a while now and always fancied giving them a try. Ideal situation came up recently where I needed to fit a main isolation switch before splitting the tails to a sub board and main board. Existing unit didn’t have any surge protection so this was the ideal solution for me. The mains switch is actually quite good I like how it had 2x screws per terminal really good feature missing from some of the more expensive brands. Installation was really easy to the unit is quite compact and the tails line up with the terminals. I was very happy with this product and would buy and use again if required.

Works isolates and protects electronic devices in the home
Good way to upgrade to the new UK regs Surge protection device should be fitted to new installations and recommended for existing unless you can prove otherwise with risk assessment which is more of a pain than just fitting one This is fitted in the meter box next to the cut out fuse bottom right of box leaving the top half of the box for the meter The isolator is double terminal on the live side only If you cannot isolate your supply other than with the cutout fuse I'd get this fitted by your energy supplier when they fit a new meter as your not allowed to pull the cut out fuse and national grid will charge 4 times the price The spd is connected by a bus bar in the inclosure and will need 10mm to 16mm earth cable to connect it to earth dependent on the impedance of your earth Once fitted the installation should be voltage surge protected this one has a green indicator on it after a few years and operations will need replacing once red shows can be replaced without opening enclosure as its module is push clipped into its base so can be squeezed and pulled and a new one pushed in I would also put a decal in the consumer unit this feeds warning that a spd is fitted in the meter box as if a sparky insulation resistance tests the circuit he may damage the unit and or get false readings the spd needs removing before the tests

Great value for money!
ELECTRICIAN REVIEW: I generally avoid installing anything in meter cupboards, however if you are replacing a 60947-3 iso fitted by the DNO, these are absolutely perfect!!!

Item not as i older reviews
This product is a different style from the photos in the other reviews. The main switch has twin screw cage clamp terminals at the top and singe cage clamp terminals at the bottom. The top terminals align with the enclosure perfectly meaning your tails can fit as they should. The bottom terminals are way off, its impossible to bend a 25mm tail to fit properly to allow the cover to screw on properly. This item shouldn’t be selling as an in line isolator/surge device, it should be described as a device to be installed in parallel with the supply tails. It is perfectly suitable for this kind of installation. The main switch is designed for use in a consumer unit, not a meter isolator switch. Another thing is that its either a rebranded Proteus switch or more likely a copy, as the proteus item is much more solid.
