You have to wash it a few times or soak overnight, then once dry mash a few cloves of garlic with salt pepper and Cummin.. Toss that then wash once again.. It's sounds way more complicated than it is..

No do not put this in the dishwasher.. Wash with warm water.. If you use soap make sure it is very gentle so it doesn't get discolored.
