High Gain Freeview TV Aerial - August DTA240 - HD Portable Indoor/Outdoor Digital HD Antenna for USB TV Tuner/DVB-T Television/DAB Radio/SD/ 4K - With Magnetic Base

Product is nice and small, exactly as ordered. Unfortunately, it didn't help with my old TV.

I have been with the same cable company for more than 21 years. In the last three months I have experienced so many problems with them that I actually had to report them to the Board of Public Utilities. I have placed a disconnect order that will take place in seven days. I never again do business with them. So I ordered this antenna in anticipation of the changeover. I will be using streaming services from now on but I still need access to the major networks and local channels. This little antenna arrived today. Since I still have cable service in the main TV in the living room, I figured I would test this one out on my bedroom TV. The bedroom TV is not a smart TV and I disconnected the cable service in that one about three months ago, just to save some money. The bedroom TV has been unused all this time. I went to YouTube and found a few videos that explain how to install one of these antennas and how to have your TV scan for available channels. The actual installation is just a coaxial fitting that gets plugged into the back of your TV. The antenna does not even need any kind of electrical connection. So I plugged it into the TV and I had my TV scan for available channels. I could not believe my eyes!! be My TV found about 109 channels. I have CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, PIX. In addition, it found other channels, such as PBS, MeTV, Toons, LAFF, STORY, OXYGEN, Fox Weather, MOVIES!, LOCLish, CREATE, WORLD, ION, BOUNCE, RETRO, Shopping Channels, just to name a few. The quality and reception are equal to what I was getting with cable and all for the incredible price of about $21 (I bought the antenna during yesterday‘s prime deal day). I actually just went into Amazon again to order a second antenna for the living room because this little bad boy is staying right here in the bedroom. My bedroom TV is inside a cabinet and I simply put the antenna on top of the cabinet. I didn’t even bother moving it around. One thing I will tell you is that will find the same channel name will multiple versions. For example, the TV found three different MeTV channels. Two of those were broadcasting an episode of “the Beverly hillbillies“. The third one was broadcasting “Mission impossible“. This was bound to happen since I am getting signals from different areas and those stations might be broadcasting different shows under the same channel name. I simply went into the settings of my TV and deleted the duplicate one. Additionally know that the channel numbers might have extensions. Again, this is also due to receiving signals from different areas. For example, I am picking up MeTV on channel 33–001. I am getting Toons on channel 33–002 and LAFF is coming in on channel 33–003. I have already cleaned up the channel list and kept the channels I want and the others I simply deleted. So now when I use the channel button up or down, it will only show me the channels. I am interested in. This is one of the best gadgets. I have bought in a very long time. Even if you are not very good with electronics do not be afraid of installing this. Like I said, it’s just a coaxial fitting that goes in the back of the TV. The YouTube videos will take you step-by-step into how to do the rest. I am incredibly delighted with this antenna. In seven days I get to do this all over again in the main TV. I can hardly wait. And in seven days, I also end a monthly bill of $180 that I was paying to the cable company. Go for it and get one of these. It is absolutely worth the reasonable price.
