This has been the best purchase I have made since I found the Kingston-microSDHC-Memory-Reader-FCR-MRG2. I am giving this a Five star only because I was able to work around it's few flaws and because I simply love it. There is none like this out there. compared to the competition which come with 32, 64, 128mb internally, with this puppy I can swap out with all my microSD cards I already use. I simply love the backup feature on this thing, especially because it verifys that the data is already there and it doesn't create multiple copies. So you don't end up with duplicate photos, Love it! When I first received it I plugged it in and away it went. right away it took me to the apps I needed to download. Downloaded them all which were (3) three. just to see what each one did. After installing the apps I opened the first one and it ran smooth, copied a few photos and then removed the micro sd card to view them on the computer. Sweet! all there. It was fast and easy. Once I found the Backup Sync feature it made this item Golden! I am recommending this item to all my friends.Another cool feature is that it can play your videos straight from the card. I put a movie on one of my microSD cards and watched it with no lag. I was even able to stream it to my tv from my phone and it was just awesome.I later swapped it with a microSD card that has my music and was playing songs from it. just love how easy and smooth it plays my media.Now for the cons.Cons: The day after I received the item I tried plugging in the device and I kept getting a "Device Not Connected" I unplugged / replugged and it just woudln't connect. After a few attempts it finally read the device. Not sure what's up with that. Will update later if it continues to be a problem.-When viewing photos in smart view it crashes the app. just completely kicked me out. I tried deleting the photos where I thought were the problem but didn't seem to do anything. Not sure what the issue is with that. so i cannot view the picture pasts a certain point. but it only happens in Smart view.-When trying to copy a few videos, the app would just freeze. I went throught the photo's selected a folder in my Camara roll then selected a few pictures and videos. The process starts and at a point it just freezes. It completely freezes the app and you just have to kill the app and restart. I notice this more on Videos. I eventually did one by one just to see which video was having issues. but just not very convenient and not sure why it would get stuck on the a single particular video. They were all recorded the same so it didn't make sense.-the small prong that connects to the phone seems a little flimsy. It wiggles a bit more than I would like it and feel that if I am not careful it might break. I thinking if this is why I get the "device not connected" error message. but we will see.-the main thing that I don't like about this is that when it copies the photo over it sets the modified date to today and not the original created date. If the vendor could change that it would make me very happy. (;So aside from those glitches. I've been able to work with it and now I have seperate microSD cards for my family. they each have their own and they backup their photos with ease.Love this product, and cannot rave about it enough.

The media could not be loaded.  Kindly given to me to review this is a handy little dongle for Apple users. The small dongle allows you to use microSD cards with your iPhone or iPad.In the video you'll see it working with an iPad Air and iPhone 6.You'll need to download a dedicated app to access the files on the memory card. It's a very easy to use app that has been designed to work with a number of other services, such as Google Drive, as long as you provide your credentials and authorise the app to access your account.The app can be used as a media player for your own video/music (either on the iDevice or on the memory card), but as you'll see in the review video the app isn't authorised to play iTunes content.Copy files was very easy and means you can quickly move files between devices without having to wait for any cloud backup services to upload files.I can see this also being handy at work if you have a large number of files you need to take with you but don't want to clog up your iPad.It's highly portable and not something that would stay plugged into your device and so I'd have preferred the design to have included some method of protecting the lighting connector from damage, as it is it stays exposed to the elements.Handy little gadget that gives you additional options on storage.

I received this a few days ago and so far so good. The two issues I ran into were 1) A consistent crash when trying to backup ALL of my videos at once (at least 10GBs). Backing up smaller groups solved this and generally I'll back up files more regularly so this shouldn't be a problem for me. 2) The device/software seems unable to transfer Slo-Mo videos to a micro SD. I've tried many times and the progress hangs on zero and the device doesn't flash (which it normally does while reading/writing). For others experiencing trouble transferring files, avoiding Slo-Mo, may help. Not ideal but usable. I tried a 16GB and 64GB card (pictured) with no trouble so far. I reviewed the backed up files on a Mac after transfer and they all seem to be intact. Primarily I will be using this to review and transfer videos from my Yuneec drone, edit them on iPhone, post to social media, and transfer edited file to a different SD Card, delete original video from first SD card. I successfully tested this use. Tested on iPhone 6 Plus.

The idea behind this product is great! Bought it to be able to grab the many photos and files off my iPad Pro and my iPhone. Worked like a charm with the PhotoFast app for a few months, then suddenly ceased to work. Whenever I plugged it in, I would get an error message saying the "device requires too much power". Couldn't get it to work anymore, so I ended up getting the newer type that had a usb type A connector on one end.Anyway, I just wasted money on this one -- not to mention build quality is not so good. The plastic seems cheap, and the lightning connector started to become a little loose in those few months. If you're still considering this product, think twice.

Prompt delivery and exactly what I was looking for. It's Very user friendly and not cumbersome at all when attached to my phone unlike some others that I have used. Great product combined with Amazon service equals one happy customer. Thank you!

Worked perfectly for a few months, but later began not to be recognized when inserted unless wiggled in lighting slot. Very erratic now 1+ year after purchase. Takes 10-15 minutes of fiddling with it to get iPhone /iPads to recognize the reader. Will put it back of the shelf and give it a try again in a few months and see if it comes back to life. Based on my experience figure you've got a tool that will work for 6-9 months.

this is OK , but when I want to transfer some document like Phone list , It couldn't do that

This works great for my iPad and iPhone 6+. The only issue I have is the darn thing is tiny and I keep losing it. App that you use it with is great.

I was honestly very excited for this card reader For the fact that it’s mfi certified but it’s huge disappointment because I can not use my 128 gb cards. It restricts Me up to 64gb. Other then that I have no complaints. When I use 128 gb card it’s give me error messages saying this phones power output is unstable and disable the writing process. You can view the files on se card but you can’t copy from your phone to card. Please see the picture.

Can’t beat this. Amazing product. Love being able to put my art on an sd card and transfer it to a pc so fast. App is also great to upload my photos from my camera to my phone.
