Maui Babe Browning Lotion 8 Ounces

A little oily but this gives great color! I use it while on vacation in South Carolina and always get super dark! Smells good and makes your skin feel great!

I have been using this for about 10 years when someone else introduced me to it. Someone else wrote a review on here that was spot on, so I'm going to follow that lead.1. This is not sunscreen. Don't expect it to keep you from burning.2. I apply sunscreen, then smooth the Maui Babe over top. I am dark, dark, dark in the summer (i'm a redhead that tans pretty easily, but this gets me ultra tan and looks so natural).3. I've never had it stain a towel, clothes or any bathing suits. Washes right out if you accidentally get it on something.4. It is a little oily, so make sure you rinse your hands after applying. I always wipe off with my beach towel before going inside so as to not get it on furniture.5. I've never had a little brown cloud around me when I get into pools. It pretty much just comes off, nothing noticeable in the water, though. Reapply once you're dry.6. Just like anything, there is a scent...but I've never found it to be a negative scent. I also never noticed smelling like it once I put it on. Let's face it, sweating in the sun will cause you to not smell like roses anyhow.Try it out with the above expectations and you'll fall in love with it too.

So far, I'm 50/50 with this lotion.About myself: I'm an extremely fair brunette, who freckles and burns before she tans (like my mother and grandmother. Skin cancer does not run in our family). Upon arrival, I was SO EXCITED to open the bottle up, as I had heard amazing reviews about it giving people glorious golden tans without any burning. I was also a bit skeptical about the quality of packaging, as I'd seen plenty of photos and reviews where the bottle came busted and leaky, half empty. Mine came wrapped in bubble wrap, and sealed with plastic, so that there was no leaking or breakage. Hooray!Once I opened it, I was hit by a strong Dark Chocolate Doughnut smell.You heard me.Dark Chocolate doughnuts. It's got that slight hint of coffee, and a lot of chocolate. It's sugary. Almost sickly sweet, but not. I LOVED it, being the chocolate fiend that I am.I got in my bathing suit, and went outside to tan. I put this on as I was sitting in the sun, OVER AN SPF 70 SUNSCREEN. The texture is that of an oily lotion, and it comes out dark brown. It is not a self tanner. You must thoroughly rub the product in, until you see little to no brown streaks on your skin where you applied it. After that, I laid in the sun for about fifteen minutes. Just fifteen (again, I'm super fair, and burn easily). I went back inside, and left the product on for about two hours, no rinsing off or trying to scrub my skin with a towel.After I rinsed off, I checked for any darkening of my skin. There was definitely a tan forming, but it was very slight. My skin was smooth and soft (hooray for all of those oils in the ingredients!) After just 15 minutes, rotating from front to back, with SPF 70 sunscreen, on a level 7 UV Index sunny day, I was forming a tan.No burn.Now, it was a very slight, almost unnoticeable tan. But because I'm ghostly, I could see it. So could my husband. And my skin felt super soft and smooth and smelled great.I didn't take before and after pictures (because I didn't even think to, silly me), I only have the bottle and its ingredients. It's important to check, to make sure you aren't allergic to anything. I'll update with more pictures when I go back outside to tan again.

By far the best tanning lotion I have ever used. I use it to tan in a tanning bed & then use the oil version to tan outside and after a month of tanning indoors and outdoors I am a natural golden bronze color. It looks amazing. It's definitely tinted and you need to wash your hands after. The smell is different but in a good way. I don't mind it at all, reminds me of a strong coffee or butter scotch smell. I buy this same bottle every 6 weeks, because I go through it so fast. They even taped the top shut do it wouldn't explode or leak if left in the Arkansas heat too long. I recommend this product so much I should be a paid spokesperson for how many times I've convinced people to buy it. I'm fair complected in the winter but with this lotion and bit of tanning I'm almost brown lol. It's a beautiful natural brown, not orange or fake looking like alot of tanning lotions do. The only complaint I have is it is a bit oily so you have to wipe a bit of it off after you tan. Will stain clothes so make sure you put something on dark after you wear it. About to purchase again because my bottle is almost empty and I can't live without it. LolI've only been tanning a month and I'll probably only need to tan a couple more weeks to completely max out on tanning. This product is AMAZING. You should purchase the outdoor tanning oil version as well. Its just as good, will purchase a couple bottles for my beach vacation this summer, i have to buy a few because my family uses it all when we go to the beach lol

The smell is very light not bad at all, It smells a bit like coffee but not to strong. The lotion is light brown and very messy and oily so you definitely must shower after you are done laying out. I personally didnt notice any darker color then I would when not using anything. In fact I put a little heart shaped sticker on so I could see a difference after laying out and there was no tan line at all after laying our for 20 minutes. I was afraid to burn after reading the reviews but there was nothing. so the next time I stayed out longer for about 30-40 min and still seen no tan lines at all. So the next time I decided to try going longer and after an hour I now have a slight brown hardly noticeable tan. I'm going to keep trying since I still have lotion left but I will be buying a different product next time to see if I can find a better one that works.

I’ve tried a lot of tanning products over the years, but Maui Babe Browning Lotion is one I keep coming back to. I’ve been using this lotion for close to 10 years. It gives my skin a beautiful, natural-looking bronze glow without looking orange or streaky. The lotion goes on smoothly, and I noticed my tan developed faster and looked deeper after spending time in the sun. I will not use any other product.

Okay, so as someone from Samoa and having worked in Hawaii as a dancer for several years, I ordered this knowing that it would do what it is supposed to do. That being said, there are several points on which I recommend it:The shipping was fast and on time (I have prime), and in my opinion, the product was a bit different than what you would buy in Maui, but the quality is no less than that.Application-- I read several reviews commenting on the fact that it explodes when you open it, the smell, and the consistency. To open it, I didn't have explosion but I would suggest making sure the bottle isn't crumpled before closing it and to open it facing your palm. The smell is like brown sugar at first, but when I got to my neck/shoulder/chest area it started to kind of smell like soy sauce, but that doesn't bother me, it went away after a little while in the sun, and it doesn't have any affect on effectiveness. I read in several reviews about how it's oily and makes you feel "icky". Well, you're using far too much if that is the case. A quarter size amount is enough for my whole leg and I'm quite tall. A little goes a long way. It's not brown, and it's like a tinted oil that you don't slather on. You put it on like lotion so it soaks into your skin, providing nutrients and facilitates tanning. Your skin should feel soft and moisturized afterward.I spent an hour on a towel and I am already a shade darker. I would NOT recommend it for like a pool or beach considering when I got into the shower an hour after tanning, the water instantly washed it away. I don't know about a tanning bed, but I would assume that if you don't slather it on trying to actually look brown with it on, it should be the same as any other tan lotion.All in all, I recommend this product and the seller. It definielty works.

Goes on smooth, smells great, and gives an even, natural-looking tan without feeling greasy. Love it!
