Powertron 72300 3.5 VOLT BATTERY FOR WELCH ALLYN 1375 MAH

Great value and quick delivery. The battery works perfectly. There are a number of reviews that state the batt was DOA? Did these people take a multimeter and test the batt voltage? Most likely NOT! The main reason that the Welch Allyn handle does not power the halogen bulb is the handle contacts are not touching the bayonet like contact in the head. You have to get a pick and physically move/bend them back into place! You will see the handle contacts in the small hole that is in between the two prongs that plug into the wall outlet. There are still more bad reviews that claim the batt died quickly and would not charge. Ok people, please buy a 10 dollar multimeter, if you check the output of the Welch Allyn Battery Charger Module Assembly, you will see that the output is a big fat ZERO! So buy a 5 dollar charger instead of a 130 dollar welch allyn replacement module! Please check a few things FIRST before submitting poor information.

I purchased 1 battery hoping for good results. The battery was dead on arrival. Attempted to charge. No luck. Attempted to jump battery using my old battery. No luck. My old battery works, just not holding much of a charge any longer at 15 years of home use with kids and my own ear issues. I ordered a second hoping a fluke on the first battery since a good price and overall decent reviews. Second battery was the same. I tested the charger to confirm it was working. It is. Both these batteries actually show negative milliamps only. So some kind if defect. I did wind up ordering a different after market battery and it is working great. There does appear to be some quality control issues present here. In preparing to return these, I notices that the label states to insert either direction. This is not correct for the 72300 battery. It is a one direction battery. So perhaps they packaged and labelled some of the wrong batteries?

I was a little hesitant ordering this as it was the cheapest option out there. However, I took a chance and was GLAD I did. The original battery (that I removed) is identical to this one, except that the print/text on the plastic is a different color and represents the manufacturer, not Welch Allyn. I removed the other battery, popped this on in, and charged it overnight. It is working perfectly and I couldn't be happier. I would recommend this seller and this product to anyone looking for a replacement battery.

I bought this battery 4 and 1/2 years ago to replace an OEM battery I bought 1 year earlier with the new set Welch Allyn Otoscope/opthalmoscope set. The price of the battery was around $7 then. Today, it is $16. Compared to the OEM battery, this battery exceeded expectations. And I am using my otoscope with this battery 5 days a week for my clincal practice for more than 3 years now. I have to charge it the night before work for the past 3 years. Since it is dead now, I am buying a new one. No OEM for me, too expensive.

I hate buying replacement batteries, it is always a leap of faith if you are getting the right one at a reasonable price. Well this one was an exact replacement for my Welch Allyn products and it working like a charm - I'll thrilled.

Well got 3 of these as it was a prime item and also because of the cost. All 3 batteries were doa. Tried in different units and no luck. Put in the old batteries to make sure it was not my Welch Allyn units and the old batteries worked. It's sad because it's a prime item and the cost is great. For those of you that had good luck with these I'm happy but for me I'll be getting orig Welch Allyn atteries or try another vendor

So far, so good. Time will tell if this battery is a true bargain or will need to be replaced by real Welch Allyn product.
