Romans: Exposition of Chapter 6 : The New Man (Romans Series) (Romans (Banner of Truth))

These books on Romans are truly a blessing and this one on Romans 6 is my favorite. So often is seems that as Christians we fall into a pattern of works salvation and do no comprehend the power and meaning of the cross. Thanks goodness the Old Man is dead!! Dr Jones brings out Paul's epistle with such clarity and life. If you buy one of these books on Romans, make it this one. God Bless!!

This is with out a doubt one of the most transformational books that I have ever read. Lloyd-Jones lays out a sound biblical exegesis of Romans 6 that surpasses that of any other book I have read. It clearly identifies who we are in Christ, and exactly what that looks like. My belief is that the biggest problem in the church today is that Christians do not know what it means to be a Christian. Lloyd-Jones give detailed analysis of what it means to walk in the newness of life- all based on what Christ completed on the cross. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.It is beneficial if you have studied Romans 1-5, before taking on chapter 6, but not absolutely necessary. Take your time going through this book, savor every word that is written, and meditate on the Word, and you WILL see your life change. This book should be mandatory reading for every person who calls themselves a believer.

Best book of the whole series on Romans. A chapter for each verse in chapter 6 of Romans, written by a spiritual leader who truly is blessed and understands his faith better than most. My 3 favorite books of the bible (John, Acts & Roman) which my pastor says if you can master, you will be ahead of 95% of all Christians in knowing truly their faith, of one of those three, this is by far the most inspiring chapter. Know the scriptures. David Martin Lloyd-Jones is an excellent guide in that goal.

Dr. David Martyn Lloyd-Jones is a prize sent directly from heaven. He was equipped like few others to articulate in understandable English the riches of God's Word. To read his exposition of Romans, particularly Chapter 6, is to better understand what being in Christ means. Dr. Lloyd-Jones clearly articulates what the believer's eternal position means. Each of his other thirteen volumes on Romans is a prize as well. Be prepared for a doctoral course given in plain-speak.

The book was out of print so I was very happy to find one---even in great, like new condition.I would highly recommend the book to any serious believer who is looking for a great explanation and expostion of the most critical and important aspect of their new life in Christ.I'm a believer of over 50 years, a ThB in theology, who has believed much of what Lloyd-Jones writes about but his book has provided me with even a more good, sound basis for it----it has made my foundation for living His life even more solid.I would also recommend "Birthright" by David C. Needham, also out of print, which adds even more fire to the whole subjects of Romans 6, 7 and [email protected]

MUST HAVE COMMENTARY ON ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT CHAPTERS IN THE NEW TESTAMENT. I HAVE READ MY COPY SO MANY TIMES I'VE LOST COUNT. AFTER READING LOTS OF STUFF ABOUT THIS SUBJECT, THIS BOOK SHINES LIKE A BEACON OF TRUTH AND LIBERATION. IT MAKES PLAIN TRUTHS THAT HAVE BEEN DISTORTED BY MANY WELL MEANING EXPOSITORS.THIS BOOK SUPPORTS COMMENTARY WITH SCRIPTURE AFTER SCRIPTURE AND IS BOTH PRACTICAL AND LOGICAL IN ITS APPROACH TO PAUL'S ANSWER TO THE QUESTIONS," SHOULD WE CONTINUE IN SIN SO THAT GRACE WILL MULTIPLY?" AND "SINCE GOD'S GRACE HAS SET US FREE FROM THE LAW, DOES THIS MEAN WE CAN GO ON SINNING?" THIS BOOK CHANGES ME EVERY TIME I READ IT AND PERSONAL REVIVAL OCCURS. DON'T MISS IT!

This is a great read for those who want to understand this Book better. The author is clear and precise and helps you to understand things that at first value may not be what the Apostle Paul had in mind. It helps to know the language in which this book was written and most of us don't have that, so we rely on others who do and share with us.
