VERY SMART IRON
I love this iron. I bought a Black and Decker in 1990's the only problem with it is that the soleplate is damaged and it sticks to everything. I decided to get another one that I hope will last as long as that one has. The weight on this iron is perfect for me. It is considerably lighter than my old one but still has weight. I have old boxes of fabric that I am using to make quilts and is not just cotton but different kinds of polyester combination materials, some are stretchy and some are not. It seems to iron quicker and I have not burnt or stuck to anything yet. It is so quiet I keep thinking it is not working. I use starch to make the fabric harder and when the residue sticks to the soleplate I can wipe it off with a dry sponge and keep on keeping on. It also says that you can use tap water instead of requiring distilled water. I really like that it has color. It has a spout that make it easy to put water in and I can see where the water is and how much is there. So far it has not radomly sprayed out steam when the iron is moved so I haven't gotten burned yet.

Very nice iron. Satisfied with it.
Beautiful iron. Well made. It has a good size water reservoir and it's easy to use. I like the retractable cord. I like black and decker irons. The last a very long time. It heats up fast and gets wrinkles out well. I use mine alot for crafting. It's great on wool. It has many great features.

Great Performance, Minor Flaws
This iron heats up quickly and does a great job smoothing out wrinkles. It’s lightweight, easy to handle, and glides effortlessly over fabric. Clothes look crisp with minimal effort. That said, the cord is a bit too short, which makes it tricky to use if your outlet isn’t close by. I also noticed a small amount of water leakage when it's upright—not a dealbreaker, but worth mentioning. Still, overall a solid iron that gets the job done well. Just wish the design was a bit more practical.

Great choice!
Grabbed this based on good reviews. Purpose: dress shirts and pants and cotton blazers for 5T-men's XL. Frequency of use: 2-3xweek 10-30 min Pros: Nonstick plate Retractable cord Lots of steam on higher settings A little "slide" that makes adding water mess free Smooth glide Auto shut offs in multiple positions Price! Why pay $150 to press shorts and slacks? Cons: -Does not actually spray out water, instead it sort of dribbles out. Not a deal breaker considering the pros-I just use a fine mist spray bottle which probably serves my purposes better anyways - The tip doesn't get as hot as the rest of the plate for the fine work around buttons. Still does a good job, I'm just being very particular when it comes to stubborn folds. Sti workable I'm pleased. Still 5 stars because it's got smart little features and it's an improvement from my 8+ y/o model!

I would recommend this iron!
So far so good. I have owned a Black and Decker steam iron for years. Mine finally died yesterday. It lasted about 7 years. I would say a great run. So I ordered this new one that is lighter in weight and made to use tap water. Used it today to steam press and it worked great. Hopefully it lasts at least as long. Steam pressure was good, removed wrinkles quickly. The heat was just right. Great price.

Pretty nice iron!
I love the fact that it has different settings and it's pretty easy to understand when to use each one. The reason why I didn't give it a full five stars is because getting water in it for steam was messy. The opening isn't very big, so free-hand pouring was clearly not going to turn out well. I got a funnel but still, I spilled some water because it was not going into the tank as fast as the funnel was pouring it in. You'll have to learn to pour very slowly and use a funnel to keep from getting water all over your ironing board. Once the water was in and I was ready to use it, it worked beautifully. The steam was strong and hot. I only had it on a setting of 4 too, which is the lowest setting to obtain steam. The sprayer worked great, but I found the extra steam button to not be very reliable on the 4 setting. Perhaps if I had it higher it would have worked better. Sometimes it would kick out a gust of steam and other times it wouldn't and I had to press the button more than once. I'm not a huge steam fan and I already have a steamer for clothes that don't tolerate a hot plate irons, so for me it was not a big deal. I did decide to keep it. I love that it has a very narrow tip that allows for some detailed ironing. Overall, it's a nice iron and most will be happy with it; just not the steam lovers. In it's defense, it did give out really good steam with just ironing, so for most I doubt that extra boost of steam would be needed anyway.
