Can you clarify how thick is 5mm???. I understand the length to be 6.5 inches...

If my math is correct as a centimeter is 2.54 inches, I believe it is very close to 1/10 of an inch.. I used this to make handmade corn dogs. Which had to make it through an extra long hot dog, then stand up to being fried and support a bunch of batter, and being eaten. I kinda doubted it at first, but this is a pretty strong little stick... Hope that helped

Can these be washed a reused?

I don't know...I used mine for caramel apples that were given away as wedding favors. I had a few leftover and refridgerated them, when I pulled the stick out they were wet from the apples...I don't know how you're using them..I think that would make the difference as to whether they can be reused.

These sticks are very smooth. I used them for caramel apples. The thickness is smaller than a pencil...but very sturdy. I used for caramel apples, that were then dipped in chocolate. The apples were heavy and the sticks held up perfectly...no "bend" to them at all. They would work for corn on the cob with no problem. Just watch the length that you buy...I don't know how far in you need to insert them. Good luck and Happy Holidays.
