Phone fell out of my pocket (without my knowledge), and what happened next I am speculating. Someone found my phone by the road and called my mom to return it. I was in a school parking lot but they said they found it by the road, so I'm thinking it fell and landed on the running board. It must have flown off the running board when I turned the corner, slid on the asphalt and that's where someone found it. Phone case is BEAT UP, but phone still works! I continued to use the case and I'm just now replacing it (4 months later). I highly recommend this case.

It took me a while to review this product because I wasn't willing to openly abuse the phone the way that I did with the Defender. I didn't have the confidence in this model that I did with the Defender that had on my S3. With the Defender I was a walking, talking infomercial for Otterbox products, openly dropping the phone on hard surfaces, throwing it across the room to prove how tough it was. Especially to my sister-in-law who has easily cracked a half-dozen screens;-) Well, I forgot the old S3 along with my trusty Otterbox Defender on the roof of my wife's car, and let's just say that I now have a Samsung Galaxy SkyPro J7. I found out pretty quickly that Otterbox doesn't make a Defender for the new model of phone, and I was left with this one. The reviews that I read on the Symmetry, and how it was designed and constructed didn't inspire as much confidence and I suddenly stopped demonstrating how tough Otterbox's products were. It finally happened, I dropped the phone down on to the pavement from a height of 4.5 to 5', and it hit vertical and right on the corner of the case. I picked it, hit the prompt button, and all was well! And I did the exact same thing a couple days later, it passed the test, A+, give it 5 stars. Some have a made a big deal about this case not having a screen protector, but let me say this, a tempered glass screen protector is way better than the cheesy piece of plastic that comes on the Defender. After 2.5 years of use, the plastic screen protector was scratched, gouged, and pretty beat up looking. You could see through just fine, but turn it, and the damage was really noticeable. Tempered glass gets beat up, just replace it and move along smartly, you can't do that with the Defender. This case is way better ergonomically than is a Defender, not nearly as big and clunky, not sure if it's as tough, but that and the tempered glass screen cover make this a tough combination to beat.
