Does this have 'blades' that will have to be replaced...can they become dull?

Hi Shortstop,There are blades on the comb which have been sharpened. The sharpened edge is on the inside of the curved portion giving it the ability to self sharpen as you use it.  However, over time it is possible for them to dull, which is why we stand behind our satisfaction guarantee. Question 2

Persian with lots of mats close to skin - will this work? Hair is long and thin.  Is it worth the price - I see others for $10?

Hi..in 35 years I've had 2 himmies. Both got matted. Had to have shaved every year. I have 6 different combs. They did nothing. This dematting comb is fantastic. Now  I've got  2 new Himalayans with the biggest blow out hair  I've ever seen and they are still babies 6 months.  You can use all over but get to the mats first and then go from there. A little at a time so they get used to it. I give mine treats because I want them to let me do it everyday on the belly,legs... There is nothing like this comb..

Question 3

Is there a type of razor within the comb that will cut off the mat or do the mats come out just by an untangling action.

I was real pleased with this comb until I encountered some real tough knots in my cats coat. instead of raking them out easily it pulled my cat's hair hurting my cats. They don't mind me combing their hair with this comb to today but I noticed they spend all night in the middle of my carpet pulling their own knots out and leaving them on the floor now. I really wished their was a razor now.

I still give this comb high marks...  Just wish there was a razor so it didn't hurt my cats so much with difficult knots (matts).
