Would it work for baofeng uv-82?

I don’t think so. I have a 6 battery charger for my uv5 and that all I use it for. I had a uv82 with a spare battery. I plugged the uv82 into my single battery uv5 charger and it smoked the charger.

how long can I leave the radios charging without damaging the battery life?

I have used the radios and charger for about two years. The radios are sometimes left for a week Or sometimes as little as a half hour. I have never noticed any loss of battery life.

Is this a ch-5 cradle or a ch-8? I think those two cover baofeng radios

These are CH-5 cradles, which is compatible with UV-5R series but not other series.

Will this work with the UV-S9?

It all depends which battery you are using Some arethicker then others and will not fit charger station
