How does the paint containers keep from drying out after opening?

I am using pipette to leave a few drops of water every so often. If your paint got really dry out, leave some warm water and stir a little can revise the color.

Are these paints vegan?

I am not certain. Nothing in the product description indicates anything about animal ingredients. Just says "eco-friendly". They are beautiful paints though and the colors are rich and deep.

What is the best way to store this paint set to prevent drying?

I mist it once with water...just barely (one squirt). Then, place the cover on. I then cover with plastic wrap.

Do these dry and become chalky feeling?

Yes, it does feel chalky when dry.
