Great quality for the price, best option where press-board is acceptable
This product line really is great for what it is. I would much rather buy real wood furniture. But real wood cabinets are much more expensive, obviously. I just needed something that would work for a craft room. I don't think I could have found a better option that was both this affordable and this sturdy. It hits the perfect middle ground. Based on touching things in the store, I think these are a more sturdy option than the press-board kitchen cabinets you can buy at the big-box home improvement stores. It's a miracle these get delivered without lots of damage. The storage cabinet in particular is very heavy, and mine arrived with an exploded box. But only one corner of one door was damaged. I contacted Prepac and they sent out a replacement for free immediately. The fact that nothing else was damaged was a testament to the toughness of the veneer on these and also the packaging, which was stellar. I think the veneer is made of rhino skin. One cabinet had two pretty deep dings on the edging and they didn't manage to break through it. I kept the pieces as they were because you can barely tell after the doors are put on. Assembly is really easy. I was expecting it to be a pain like other press-board furniture, but really, it was fast and the end result is sturdy. It's hard to not get it mostly square with the assembly method they use. I will always hate myself when buying press-board furniture, but if I have another need for it in the future, I would buy these again probably without even shopping around. There is one slight annoyance with the wall cabinets. When you install two next to each other, you clamp them and screw them together. But the screws you used to attach the sides to the bottoms and top hit either other, so you don't get a snug line all the way up. At the very top and very bottom you get a small gap, in the middle the cabinets touch. You may be able to see it in my picture from below. This material is not really made to countersink your screws, then your screw would be resting on press-board instead of the rhino-tough veneer. For this price I don't care and wouldn't knock off a star for it, but be aware you will hit that.

Easy setup, good fit, looks great
Well engineered with all the holes lining up and no hardware issues. Took me about 1/2 hour a unit and I got 4 of them. I am put them on top of the taller unit in this style. I feel I should address some other pointed out issues. 1. It is a box, with only 9 pieces in the shipping box. 2 side panels with lots of holes, a top and a bottom with holes only on the edge, two doors, a back and a shelf with no holes and two back supports. Line up all the brown edges, keep the holes on the inside and there you go, no instructions needed. The pictures provided in the box show all of this. 2. The back in not cardboard, it in HDF. Look it up. Since it has no weight on it, so what? It looks nice. 3. If the bolts are tight and the back in nailed on it is very rigid. 4. I was itchy when I was done putting 4 together, I took a shower. 5. Packaging was very good and no damage was on the finish. 6. The hinges are six way adjustable, if the door doesn't line up go on Youtube and see how to use these. Mine are perfect. 7. The shelf is MDF, look it up, I put wood 1x1 wood strips screwed under the shelf to keep it in tension in the front and back, no sagging. 8. I mounted these to the wall with screws and a large washer to studs in the wall. They are not coming out. If I were going to use them free-standing on the wall I would put a 1x1 cleat on the bottom back for support. You will hardly see it. 9. There was a new thing smell when I put them up but that is gone after a day. It is in a 12x7 room closed up. My new truck smelled longer than these did. I do not have any super ninja building skills and these worked out great. Take your time and look at the pictures on the paper. The finish looks good and I think they are well made.

Great Cabinet for the Price
Use: I am using my cabinets for my laundry room, replacing the single shelf with this cabinet to increase utility in that room. Pros: - Easy to assemble: This took me a total of about 30 minutes to assemble and another 5 minutes to hang. A big reason for the time was adjusting the doors. I was also able to hang this myself. - Price: The price was great considering other, smaller cabinets at Home Depot or Lowes was much more expensive. - Quality: The quality of the materials seems great! I only have one major complaint with this which I'll elaborate on below. But as for the build quality, it is really good. Cons: - Door adjustments: This is the biggest complaint for me. The doors would not adjust properly. The single door side hits the door next to it. The double door side has a fairly large gap between the doors. I tried everything to fix both issues, but I never could get it to adjust properly. - Shipping damage: I had some scratches in the doors and shelves that came from shipping. The packating was not adequate to protect everything from damage. Summary: Overall, I am happy with this set. If I had paid more money for it, I would be rating this much lower with the issues I had with mine. The door gaps are a huge disappointment especially since I spent well over 15 minutes just trying to get the gaps right, only to find that nothing would fix them. But, this was a cheap set and they function very well, so I am very happy with them. I'd definitely recommend getting these for a laundry room or garage.

What a Bargain!
I bought this upper cabinet for my laundry room and simply did not want to spend big bucks on a cabinet that is in a laundry room. I opted for this one and hoped for the best. Hubs put it together with little effort. He got it up which was exciting considering he had to position it over the washer and dryer. But he got it up and it looks great. It is sturdy and holds huge containers of bleach, fabric softener, and various cleaning products. The gray is not too dark...it works perfectly with the beige walls. I loved it so much that I bought the same for my daughter's home. She has it in her kitchen over her coffee bar. I highly recommend it. It is well-constructed and supports heavy items.

We love it. Great price!
I understand some of the poor reviews, though Prepac has obviously gone through some design/materials changes since some of the worst. The most obvious is that the two wall mounting boards are no longer made of the same type of particle board that the rest of the cabinet is made from. Ours was medium density fiberboard (MDF) which is still softer than real wood or plywood, but much less prone to shattering. It was pleasant to assemble and the instructions were thankfully clear. Again, the negative reviews had me checking every step carefully and that helps. This is especially important with the doors. Since you have to decide which door goes where and then drill holes for the handles (which is NOT reversible if you mess up) I pondered them for quite a while. I assembled the cabinet completely except for installing the doors, put a table and long tote to set it on to attach it to the wall, then lined it up with the wall studs (thanks, stud-finder!). Got lucky and there were 4 wall studs exactly where they needed to be for full support. Attached the doors, adjusted them so they didn't interfere with each other, and project complete! I thought it was a nice touch that they included little white doohickeys to press into the visible screws so they wouldn't be noticeable. The only reason I don't give it a full 5 stars is that properly assembling and mounting it would be beyond many average people today. And using real wood or plywood for the two wall mounting boards would strengthen the entire assembly greatly at very little cost. Edit: Some of the other reviews complain that the two doors that close towards each other leave a gap between them. This was also the case with mine until I found that the hinge has an adjustment that can move each door up to about 1/8" towards the other. There are two screws, the one towards the back holds the door, the one towards the front adjusts it. It takes some tinkering and you have to loosen the back screw slightly while adjusting the front screw. Once adjusted, tighten it back up and you're good.

Horrible Quality, READ B4 BUYING
The only reason I kept this over priced particle board crap is because it was the exact size I needed for the top of a rack in my garage. It did come well packaged but with tons of dust and paint bits. The instructions were just barely a step above IKEA and the "wood" sections were NOT marked at all. I mean, common sense and looking at the pictures does give an idea of what piece goes where but how frustrating! The holes all lined up well at least so that's a good thing. HOWEVER!! THERE ARE PROBLEMS with these cabinets - First of all, as mentioned, the instructions are vague but manageable. The pieces not marked... okay not a deal breaker. Took very little time to put together and I'm almost 70 yrs old. BUT, the gap between the doors is ridiculous! I worked for about 30 minutes just fiddling with the hinges to properly fix that gap. No amount of adjustment made that gap go away. So, I went to YouTube to see if maybe there's something I need to do additionally. Nope, I'm spot on with doing the right thing to adjust the hinges. The reviews here and also the pictures mention and show a gap in the doors and so other buyers are having this issue as well. So, it's definitely not me but rather the manufacturing. The gap is unsightly and low quality looking not to mention that it allows dust inside the cabinet which is what I was trying to avoid when I bought a cabinet with doors instead of just shelving or a metal storage rack. It also has an open back but I had a piece of lightweight board that I was able to cut and fit onto the back easily. If you don't hang it on a wall, just know that the "solid" cabinet is open in the back. Now, a HUGE problem that I have to mention is the shelf supports... the supports are tiny plastic weak supports and will not hold the shelf with much weight for long. I replaced them with some extra metal supports left over from another project. I'd suggest replacing the provided ones with sturdier ones that you can find at any hardware store. But, really, why should anyone have to pay extra for better hardware when a premium cost cabinet should supply sturdier supports? I can't believe the nerve of this manufacturer charging so much for this cabinet. It's so low quality! IKEA had cheaper options for particle board cabinets but just not the size I needed. I will say that the one redeeming quality of this cabinet is the handles. The cabinet handles are very nice, heavy and make the cabinet look more high end than it is. Overall, I do not recommend this cabinet unless, like in my case, it's the exact size you need. Believe me, I searched for cabinets to get the size I could use and this was the closest. I even searched metal storage to no avail. Otherwise, this would have been returned.

Backu
I purchased the drifted grey color cabinets.. I ordered the double 16" deep and the triple door 12" deep.. For the money, these are great laundry cabinets, attractive & pretty well made for the money.. FYI.. The double 16" deep cabinet DOES NOT come with the cabinet backing on it, the 12" deep triple door cabinet DOES have backing on it.. I missed that when I ordered them, but not a big deal because I will make a backing for it before I hang them.. I just wanted to mention it for future purchasers.. Really like the cabinets though, they will work out great for what I needed them for over my washer and dryer..

Functional cabinet, some flaws
I bought this as a bathroom cabinet over the toilet, chosen mainly because it is deeper than most of the other cabinets that I could find. It's a functional cabinet. There are a few things that they could have done better, though: 1. There is no panel for the interior back of the cabinet at all, so you see the wall inside. There really should be one. 2. There is no melamine on the horizontal boards that go across the top and bottom of the back. Besides being ugly when you open the cabinet (bare particle board exposed), this mistake also makes installation harder, because the boards are *not* reversible, i.e. the hole is not in the center of the board, so there is a correct and incorrect orientation for these boards. Fortunately, I had some iron-on melamine edging, so I was able to correct that in about ten minutes or so; it was just ten minutes I wasn't expecting to have to spend. 3. Their installation instructions are wrong. They instruct you to make sure your cabinet is fastened to at least three studs, but standard stud spacing is 16 inches center to center, and the cabinet is 32 inches wide, so you would literally have to have two screws on the *outside* of both sides of the cabinet to hit three studs. 4. They cut some corners when they made the doors, halfway pre-drilling both doors so that they could be either left-handed or right-handed doors, with instructions to finish the drilling yourself, making one door be left-handed and the other right-handed. This causes three problems. First, there are extra holes on the inside of the door that you can't do anything about. Second, drilling through melamine isn't an exact science, and there's a real risk of tearing it when you drill, resulting in an unsightly finish. Third, there's always a real risk that someone could be careless and drill them both the same way, and then be really unhappy. And there's really no reason for this. For single cabinets, I suppose it saves them from having to have a left-handed and right-handed model, but for a double cabinet, you will *always* have to drill one for the left and one for the right. So why not just drill one for the left and one for the right? It's a tiny bit of extra parts SKU management and actually *less* work for the machine shop to do the drilling. 5. The alignment isn't as good as I would expect, i.e. those horizontal back boards don't quite touch the top and bottom pieces, which probably impacts the strength of the unit overall. 6. The shelf brackets that hold the interior shelf are plastic, which means they're going to last all of about a week before you break them and replace them with metal. :-D 7. It would be nice if they included screws for mounting it to the wall. It's not a big deal, just not something I would have expected to need to get. All in all, it's a functional piece of hardware, and inexpensive, so I can't fault it too much, but a few tiny tweaks to fix the issues listed above would make it a lot better.

Great product for utility/laundry/garage
These were a great price to begin with, so I was surprised by the quality of the fit and finish. Very easy to assemble and install. You may want to add some bumpers so that the doors close a bit more quietly.

and I'm in love. The handles come included and they are great
bought so many pieces to finish our new laundry room, and I'm in love. The handles come included and they are great. Those alone would have been $15 each at Home Depot. Definitely worth it. Looks clean, easy to put together ( my husband says ), basic instructions and minimal tools. I love them.

Surpassed my expectations and decently easy to assemble
This was a very pleasant surprise. I thought it would be decent but I didn't realize it would be great. I'd read a lot of reviews on how the installation was difficult so I was a little concerned. The last time I put a piece of furniture together I put a chisel through my hand (a chisel wasn't even required in the directions). It took about half an hour for me to the put the unit together and another half an hour to hang it. The hardest part was adjusting the doors after it was hung... and that was only because I was adjusting them in the wrong direction and wondering why they weren't looking better. All in all, I'm very pleased with this purchase. Installation wasn't soul-consuming, it looks much pricier than it actually was, and it's holding very, very well in the wall. Make sure you're mounting it into your 2x4s in at least one area though... this won't hold on the wall with just anchors. She's heavy.
