Healthier and robust
This is a nice, organic coffee pod with no plastic waste due to the mesh container for the grounds. It is a veery strong and distinctive flavor.

Happy with this coffee
This coffee is amazing! Smooth, rich flavor without any hint of bitterness. Decently priced less plastic and for me best of all no heartburn. It was also delivered quickly

Keeping it sealed makes all the difference
This is a lovely, balanced, rich City roast (medium roast) decaf--if you get it fresh and can keep it fresh. I'm lucky to have a Keurig machine in the staff lounge at work, and went with Organic Coffee Co & San Francisco Coffee Co (same company, different lines) for the 97% biodegradable pods. The first time I got Gorilla Decaf, like others I found it weak and not very tasty. Keeping the pods in a biodegradable zip-bag didn't seem to help (probably too thin and air-porous). Then I changed jobs, with another, higher-end Keurig machine for staff. I got Gorilla Decaf again, hoping I'd have better luck based on all the positive reviews. It was delicious! At first I thought it was the new machine (maybe the water was hotter?). I also *hadn't* gotten a container yet for the pods, and just folded the opened bag over and hoped for the best. Nope. The coffee lost its flavor. Lesson learned. As soon as you get your box of these or any other variety of the 97%-biodegradable pods, press the air out of each of the pouches in the box. They are designed with an air-seal release nipple for the purpose. When you open a pouch, put the pods in a sealable container. I'm using Oxo's button-seal containers, which are working well so far. One other note: the boxes of 36 pods do include a ring that will let you use the pods in 2.0 machines. I haven't tested it, since we don't have a 2.0 machine at work. It's a nice touch. I have also tried San Francisco Coffee Co. French Roast Decaf (my favorite), and Organic Coffee Co. Java Love (a good, complex flavor). Enjoy!

Great Coffee
I was looking for a more healthier option than the plastic pods and I have to say this coffee is so good. Strong bold flavor and smells so good when you open the box.

The Best Decaf Out There, BUT a Cholestrol Warning!
We love the San Francisco Bay Coffee Company (they make Gorilla). The flavor is the best! Their biodegradable K-Cups are brilliant. However, if you are concerned about your cholesterol levels like I am, you'll will want to either stay away, or paper filter the coffee after you brew it. Understand that traditional French Press, Turkish, and Espresso coffees are unfiltered. That leaves a harmful oil, Cafestol in the coffee. Cafestol is associated with raising bad (LDL) cholesterol levels. Coffee filtered with paper filters do not have this harmuful oil. Furthermore, traditional K-Cups in fact have a paper filter inside that takes out the Cafestol. Knowing these have a filter, I emailed San Francisco Bay's CS. They promptly got back to me with the following: "Our POD filter does not filter out as much as the paper filters and lets the Cafestol remain in the brew. A typical bean of coffee Arabica contains about 0.06% Cafestol by weight and as youโve suggested, it is present in highest quantity in unfiltered coffee drinks such as when brewed with a French Press. In filtered coffee drinks such as drip brewed coffee, it is present in only negligible amounts. The amount consumed will ultimately determine the levels of concern. We do not filter coffee. We only roast and grind. For drip coffee makers cafestol is reduced as the brew passes through a paper filter which is an absorbent; in the OneCup brewing, the brew passes through a polyester filter which is less absorbent so cafestol is less affected. We would always recommend that you consult with your health care provider for consumption of our single serve OneCups." With that in mind, my blood chloestrol levels rose in the last year even though I have the same diet and exercise habits as a year ago, and acheived normal levels of LDL then. The only difference in my diet was the acquisition of a Keurig machine, and using this brand of coffee. In sum, if you want a great cup of decaf and aren't concerned about your chloesterol levels, then have at it. If you're like me, look elsewhere for a good cup that utilizes a traditional K-Cup cartridge.
