Q: Does this work on thick and long hair?

Yes! I have long hair, its straight, brown and thick (not ethic thick but caucasian) it is the one one that works for me. Please NEVER discontinue!!!

Q: What keeps it together? Velcro?

It has wire inside which you bend to keep together

Q: Does it work on finer/thinner hair?

I'm not sure. It might. I have thick hair and tried Hot Bunz and the Perfect Bun worked better and easier.
