Beautiful set! So smooth, accurate size, good quality! These are the darker pegs. I ordered a cheaper set, and this set was definitely more consistent in shape. There were no irregularities. Definitely recommend if you are willing to spend the extra for a quality peg. The price was reasonable for the product.

These are fantastically well-made! They are smooth without splinters. The wood is very sturdy. I have purchased these several times for my kids and for children’s art classes. Paint pens and acrylic work well on them. It is best to gesso/prime them for kids first so that they don’t have to do multiple layers of paint.

I've purchased a lot of wood peg dolls from several different sources, but Woodpeckers is among the best quality I've come across. Too many times I've received pegs that required so much pre-sanding that it really added a lot of unnecessary time to my work day. These peg dolls from Woodpeckers are smooth and ready to paint - no sanding at all required. The coloring of the wood is beautifully consistent (no surprising "dark" spots that require more paint to cover). I especially appreciate that Woodpeckers offers a price break if you buy in bulk. The majority of my crafting requires the largest 3-9/16" dolls, which of course are the most expensive no matter where you purchase them, so getting a price break helps a lot. Not only do I highly recommend considering Woodpeckers for your wood peg doll needs, but I plan to use them exclusively in the future for all of mine. I’m not sure you can get bigger peg people unless you turn your own wood. These guys are big and sturdy and durable. My son immediately wanted to make a giant chess set with them.

These pegs are good quality for the price. Some were not level cuts on the bottom. But a large majority were made well and cut evenly. They worked well for my project. I only needed about 75 of them. So the few that weren't cut right were not a big deal. I would buy them again.

I knit hats for the Peg Dolls and crocheted "baskets" with a necklace attached. I tucked the finished gnome babies into the necklace carrier after painting simple eye dots on their faces.The birchwood was smoothly sanded and comfortable to handle. Out of the 50 peg dolls, there were only 3 I needed to touch up with very fine grit sand paper. The acrylic paint I used for the eyes did not bleed into the wood.I thought the Wood Peg dolls was such a fantastic purchase, I have placed another 50 count package into my cart, since they were well received by both children and adults.

I love these. They are a nice size. I'm using them to make angels with my Mom's 75 year old wedding dress to give to all the girls in our family.
