Was this Spenco arch support supposed to come with directions?

No directions because they are marked R and L I found them to be super helpful I put them in all my shoes!

Will someone please measure the width of these across the arch and tell me that measurement?

For the Spenco #3 3/4 length orthotic support which is for a men's size 8-9 shoe it measures 3" across at the widest point. You're looking at the next size up which I don't have so cannot verify how much wider it would be, sorry.

How do you keep them from sliding forward? The arch ends up in the wrong place.

Try placing under the shoes original insole. This should help keep it from sliding and if not just pick up some shoe goo and glue it in place just make sure it's dry and let it set overnight.
