iPrimio Cat Litter Scoop with Deep Shovel, Plastic Sifter, Lightweight

This is a wonderful scoop! I got the plastic version, but it is very sturdy and handles heavy clay litter (Dr. Elsey's Ultra) beautifully. In addition to being sturdy, I also needed the scoop to fit in a Litter Genie holder, trap small soiled bits, and be comfortable in my hands. The shovel part of this scoop is deeper than the one that comes with the Litter Genie, so it doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the holder, but it is close enough and actually looks like it came with the Genie. I have been thrilled with how much easier it is to scoop the box now. Our cat favors sides and corners and covers his waste so vigorously that he often breaks bits off of a clump. This scoop is excellent both for detaching clumps from the box and for picking up little soiled bits. It is also much faster to use because of the deeper shovel. and longer handle. The box stays much cleaner and while the scoop is not described as nonstick like the metal versions, it behaves like it is. I seldom have to clean it. I couldn't be more pleased!

I purchased this scoop because I was tired of using the cheap plastic ones and having to replace them because they are flimsy and break so easily. This new scoop is worlds better and much less frustrating. It is designed very well, sifts effectively, and gets the job done quicker. When using it, I don't have the worry that it's going to snap from normal use. I also appreciate that it fits perfectly into the corners of litterboxes and is clearly angled to scoop quickly, easily, and effectively. The scoop is composed of very durable plastic and also doesn't have a finish that causes dust to cling (a problem I have had in the past from products with an "antimicrobial" coating on the plastic). Though the sifting part is made of a hard kind of plastic, the grip on the handle is made of a different kind of plastic which is very comfortable to hold. Overall I am extremely happy with this purchase. I don't anticipate it snapping like the cheap scoops, and I am hoping to never go back to those. The new scoop was not as ridiculously cheap as the fragile ones, but it was not a bad price at all and it definitely seems worth it, especially since it will have a much longer lifetime than numerous poor quality scoops combined.

I happened to find a very large/deep shovel type Sifter at my local Kroger store I guess by mistake. It was the only one and it didn't have a price, bar code, or anything but, I knew I wanted it as soon as I saw it. They ended up "giving" it to me. It doesn't even have identifying marks on it so I don't know who makes it. I really like it but, the openings on it are close to 5mm. The reason I bought this particular "Deep Shovel" sifter is because it is 4mm between "tongs". I'm just trying to get as much of the little clumps as I can. So........ Bottom line, I like it but, it's only marginally better than my other Shovel. First off, it's a smaller shovel than what I have but, it really hasn't been an issue. Second, I do notice that it does a little better at picking up the small clumps but remember, it's only 1mm difference. If it's too close together you'll never sift out. Third, it seems to stay a little cleaner but, hard to tell since I'm not one to clean it very often. All in all, I do like this shovel and I'm using it now and will probably continue using it. FYI, I use Tidy Cat, blue top, red top, normal clumping litter. UPDATE: Well, I broke the "solid core handle" the other day. So sad too because I felt I didn't have all my "tools". When I first started using this scooper I only saw a small improvement but, my eyes were opened a little wider when I didn't have it anymore. I had to resort to my old scoop which I used to like OK. What was I thinking?? Anyway, that's how good this scooper is. My rating just went to 5 based on 5-6 months experience with it, based on the scooper itself. I almost didn't give it the extra star because, well, it broke. But, since the seller completely stands behind this product, I know that it will be replaced if defective. The seller was quick to respond and within 2 days I had a new scoop. You can't ask for better than that. Also, I've been better at cleaning the litter box mainly because if you catch clumps early on, you don't have to worry about the little pieces as much. But, no doubt, this scoop is the best I've used, and it cleans up super easy.

This is the only scoop I know of that addresses four needs: 1) Most importantly, the width and cross-section angle of the slats get all the possible little clumps. This is makes my life so much easier. Before I'd have to pick the small clumps that would fall through other scoopers and usually I'd not get them all. I'd give up. I've had this thing about three days, but I think I'll not have to change litter as often. This scoop will save me money. 2) I bought two scoops that were designed to get the small clumps. Only this one allows me to cherry pick small clumps that do fall through the grate. Specifically, you can pick up those small clumps with the corner of the scoop. The other scoop is too flat, too 2-dimensional. There is no area in the corner that would allow you pick-up those small individual clumps. 3) Handle Angle. The angle of this scoop allows me when it's digging deep in litter to one get under the clump without contacting it and pushing it forward, thus breaking it up leaving those small clumps that fall through the grate. 4) Straight Leading Edge. I only mention this because my first scoop (I'm a new cat owner) was serrated. Having a straight leading edge is just a no-trainer. I'd like to mention this scoop feels and looks like a quality product. It's sturdy and the handle feels nice.

I discovered this scoop back in August of 2017 and ordered one. I'm glad I did, because it's the 'only' scoop I've ever found that picks up and holds the 'small' bits of waste, but letting the litter sift through. I couldn't have been happier, because now I don't have to use an old wooden spoon to get the small stuff out of the litter boxes...which saves me soooooo much time. But...now for the bad part of this review and the disappointment in the structure of this scoop. In August of 2018, I had to order a new one. Why? Because of what was happening to many others...the plastic handle snapped off after using it for a year. Okay...I did get my monies worth out of this scoop, but IMHO, it should have lasted much, much longer. Now, here it is, March of 2020, and the same EXACT thing happened to my second scoop...the plastic handle snapped off. This second scoop lasted 19 months, so that was much better than the first. When this second one broke at the handle, my husbands said; "Enough is enough...I'll fix this one and make it last a long time, make it more durable, sturdier and ergonomically better" And he did. He took a 5 1/2 inch long dowel, 4 1/2 inches in circumference and 1 3/8th inch in diameter (see photos), and drilled out the center of the dowel large enough for the plastic scoop end to fit in.(approx. 1 1/4 inch deep) He used a rasping bit to enlarge the center hole and fine tweak it until he had a snug fit. He put glue (E-6000) into the hole, put the scoops broken end into the hole and pushed it in until it stopped. He then took 5/32 drill bit, drilled a hole (see photos) and secured the dowel handle to the scoop using a #8 32 X 1 inch bolt. He countersunk the two drilled holes so the 1 inch bolt would fit. He tightened everything down...and now, he's saved us another $9.00 - $12.00 from not having to buy another scoop that would eventually snap off. This fix took him approx. one hour to do. Someone else's time may vary, depending on skill level. Hopefully, others will be able to fix their broken scoops in the manner above, save them money and get many more years of use out of it. Hopefully, the company will read this review and go back to the drawing board to fix this flaw in their product.

Works better than I thought it would.

October 2016: This is a great, sturdy litter scoop with a comfortable handle. I can't say that I actually look forward to cleaning the litter box now, but I don't dread it quite as much now. This scoop has replaced my cheap old scoop that was cracking. If this one cost a couple of bucks more than the old one, it was money well spent! This heavy-duty scoop seems like it will not be breaking any time soon, even with some of those more challenging treasures that need to be dug out of the corners of the litter box. May 2018 update - - well, darn. My all-time-favorite litter scoop had a good run, but finally broke last week. Exactly like the photos I'm seeing now that I'm looking at other updated reviews. So - Why did I come back to this item?? Well to order TWO MORE, of course! :-) After this one broke, my husband went out and bought a new, regular, flimsy scoop, and it made me miss this old scoop SOOOOO MUCH. Now I'm back to order a replacement!! Along with a spare, just in case this next one also doesn't live forever. For this price, I'm keeping my review at 5 stars, as I don't think it's unreasonable to replace after 18 months. But I would love to see a design improvement at some point, since we're all having the same issue over time.

I'm writing this review within ten hours of receiving the item, and so far, I've only used it once. If you're using one of those cheap plastic scoops that usually come with a cheap plastic litter pan, love yourself and buy this one. It definitely keeps cleaner litter in the pan by getting all those tiny pieces that get left behind by the cheaper scoops (which I absolutely hate), and when you have two cats like I do, this thing makes scooping litter far from a hassle which it definitely was before. Also, I use Swheat Scoop just in case anyone needs an idea of whether or not this scoop will work with their litter of choice. I even purchased my mom one just now, too, and she has more than five cats, so this will also be a heaven sent item for her. This item feels like it'll last longer than myself - such a well designed product. Update: I still love this item and I've come back to my order to purchase again because the only issue I ever had was the paint peeling off of the original one I purchased, however, I purchased the original scoop on 08/04/22, and I paid $13.77. I came back maybe 4 or 5 days ago from 05/30/25, and the item was about $30 before taxes. Today, 05/30/25, the item is about $25. I just can't fathom paying more than $20 for an item that scoops poop and I absolutely hate that the price has increased so much...

Die Schaufel ist stabil, handlich und hat für mein Katzenstreu (VITAKRAFT) genau den richtigen Abstand der einzelnen Riefen. Ich habe mir gleich noch eine bestellt.

This is the best scooper! Most scoopers have slats that are too wide allowing small bits of kitty clumps to fall through. I think many cat owners can relate. ☺️ The slats are narrow enough to be able to get the smallest of clumps and cleaning time was cut in half. It's nicely designed too. I highly recommend this product.

Diese Schaufel liegt gut in der Hand, wirkt sehr stabil, ist gut verarbeitet. Leider viel Werbung in der Beschreibung, anstatt genauer Info. Für meine Zwecke mit ultrafeinem Klumpstreu wirklich nicht geeignet. Es will sich mir nicht erschließen, warum es so extrem schwierig ist, vernünftige Schaufeln für jedes Streu mit akzeptablem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis zu finden, bzw. zu produzieren.
