Arrowhead Mills Organic Puffed Millet Cereal, 6 oz Bag

My husband has looked EVERYWHERE for puffed millet, even health food stores and could not find it anywhere. Imagine our surprise when we found it on Amazon Pantry! He loves it and mixes it with his other cereals and granola to increase his fiber intake. Has a great flavor and is a good substitute for other wheat or corn based products, while still being whole grain. Nice sized bag for packing (if you need a breakfast that you can take camping or on road trips). Low fat, no cholesterol and no added salt or sugar, a wonderful natural breakfast food.

My favorite alternative for sugary cereal!!! Some almond milk,cinnamon, vanilla, and stevia; yumm. Also add to warm milk and oatmeal for a very hearty and filling breakfast. High amount for lower calories and carb intake. The bag is $3.50 at the store, I purchased these for $1.40 the first time and bought 4 bags ; then came back and they had gone up to $2.20, but I still bought 4 bags. Haha

As someone with very restrictive food allergies, I appreciate the simplicity of this product as there are no added ingredients. That said, you have to expect this to be very plain on its own. If you're going to eat this as cereal, I recommend planning to add things to it for flavor (fruit, raisins, chocolate chips, etc.) or fortifying your milk with sweetener (personally recommend honey or pomegranate powder). This would be a good cereal to pack for a trip because it's so airy and light weight. The grain size is small though, so wouldn't be a good "eat right out of the bag by hand" snack without making a huge mess. Also, fyi, the texture feels a lot like packing peanuts/styrofoam which takes a little getting used to!

My 22 month old has been obsessed with this puffed millet cereal for the last few months now. They are so delicious! I introduced a few of my family members and friends to it and their kids are also crazy about it. Also makes a great on the go snack.

Great breakfast cereal.

I rec'd this product about a week ago. When I opened it yesterday to use in a recipe, I discovered it was stale. The "Use By" date was current, so I assume the product had been stored in a high-humidity environment.

The flavor was good, but the cereal crispness wasn't there. Didn't taste as fresh as I've had in the past.

No sugar, grain free, good value for an item that can be hard to find locally. I used it when I make my healthy dark Chaco treats.

I wanted something for breakfast that wasn't a sugary grain cereal. I couldn't find the puffed millet in local grocery stores so ordered it from Amazon. It's good tasting and easy to digest. I'll eat it for a month then decide whether to order from Amazon again.
