Good for helping little ones building math skills

When your school says you have supplemental math groups, but you don’t have enough supplies… then end up buying more for summer school. Arrived quickly, price was about what I expected. Wish the storage box was a little bigger.

ETA hand2mind Base Ten Blocks, Yellow Plastic Rods, Set of 50 Love these high quality sturdy blocks! They are versatile and a must have for every math classroom. They can be used to concretely demonstrate so much more than place value, such as regrouping in addition/subtraction, multiplication/division, and algebraic concepts. My only complaint is that I wish they were available in the "Smart Pack" for colors in addition to blue.

I ordered 6 packages of these base-ten rods. They arrived as expected, with 50 in each bag. Great price!

Awesome tens used for counting and place value.

Sturdy enough. Took a point off for "thickness," because these are hollow. While that isn't a huge deal for many lesson plans, I discovered when testing that a 10-rod is almost exactly half the weight of ten unit blocks. This is a big problem for investigation based plans using balance scales. For kinesthetic learners (for whom these are some of the best tools) you can't compare equality based on a balance pan scale. Further, seven on these weigh about the same (slightly less) than a 100 flat. The compound components of the set need to weigh the same as their component parts.
