Has anyone attempted to put a headphone jack on this kit radio?

A headphone jack is included as part of the kit. It is located on the upper left side of the radio.

Does it come with soldering tools?

No. It is a kit, and like pretty much every electronic kit, it comes with the parts necessary to build the radio. Instructions are provided as a large fold-out that does _not_ contain step-by-step check-box directions like traditional Heathkits; you work from a circuit diagram and board-layout and ideally perform some measurements with a milliammeter before soldering a short across the test points. I would not call this a beginner kit - do not attempt this as your first kit - but it was very easy for me to build in about 90 minutes on a Sunday morning. Performance is excellent; it's like the best pocket radios I remember from early 1970s. The hardest part might be aligning the receiver, but even that's not too difficult using local radio stations. I use my 2P3 on a fairly regular basis.

I almost purchased this. however, i noticed the posts about parts missing. is that still an issue? or, has it been corrected?

I have purchased two of the 2P3 kits and both were 100% complete - no missing parts.

Yes, all the components are appropriate full sized items. Follow the directions carefully and you will have a very nice AM radio. Best of luck.
