Could this work with The metal foundry that The king of Random made?

It will work using his foundry but only with propane or a waste oil burner. The crucible is too large to allow adequate room for charcoal unless you enlarge his design.

Will this hold a pound of liquid copper?

Can you use this in a charcoal foundry?

I don't see why not. Charcoal doesn't typically get hot enough to burn through the clay-graphite crucible. Anthracite coal however...Is a different matter. I've burned holes in two crucibles with Anthracite coal.
