Does the job easily

This is a VERY GOOD and inexpensive piece of kit - I used it to REMOVE all four AXLE mounting BUSHES from my 20 year old Peugeot 206. When you consider the identical "FACOM U53 Bush Removal Tool" is over 1000 EUROS to buy, you will appreciate my point of view ! The only DOWNSIDE was that after the REMOVAL of X4 BUSHES, the HARDENED BALLBEARING at the END of the MAIN THRUST-SCREW had completely FLATTENED OUT ! My photos show the ORION THUST SCREW and BALLBEARING prior to use, alongside the FREETEC BRANDED item, which I decided not to buy as the needle POINT on the FREETEC item looked prone to DAMAGE at maximum thrust. The two other photos show the ORION THRUST SCREW with the FLATTENED BALLBEARING which is self explanatory ! I would still recommend it for the HOME MECHANIC as it is superb VALUE for MONEY !

It is quite common after using a slide hammer that you will not get the entire wheel bearing out of the wheel knuckle. And in this situation, the bearing separator enters the scene to do its job. If you do not want to use the toolset, you have plenty of alternatives: cut the bearing race, heat it with a strong torch, use a hammer and a chisel, but the item in question did its task. Please, read the instructions and do not hesitate to put the black separator piece upside down if it can have more grip to remove the bearing race.
