Photomyne Photo Studio Light Box – Foldable Photography Tent with Diffuser

Does not prevent iPhone from reflecting on glossy photos…..had to use scanner instead.

This small photo light box is perfect for eBay listings! Compact and easy to use, it provides bright, even lighting that makes items look professional. It is lightweight for quick setup and storage. A fantastic tool for showcasing products and boosting sales with clean, clear photos!

Taking pictures of old prints has these challenges: • if there's any curl to a print, it will tend to reflect natural or artificial lighting. Especially true with glossy prints. • not getting a reflection of your smart phone in the scans can be tough to avoid. As you see in the photo of my setup, I am using only natural light through a window. The shooting tent does a good job of diffusing the light. To minimize reflections, I resorted to creating a "ramp" which made glare-free scans easier to capture. Photomyne might want to consider offering a similar ramp with the tent; mine is made of a wooden rear riser, stiff cardboard ramp, topped with neutral grey poster board. So I recommend the Photomyne shooting tent, but it will help to be creative with your setup to get good shots as quickly as possible. TIP: turn on the Voice Control feature, then to snap the pic all you need to do is loudly say "Go" and the app takes the pic, no fumbling with the smart phone shutter button! Fantastic and efficient feature, makes the process so much faster.

Way too big for what I wanted/needed. Clearly I did not noticed the size listed before I purchased it. Also, it did seem difficult to get pictures just right to remove any shadows or glaring.

This was a project I kept putting off as I just knew it was going to take a commitment of time and thoughtfulness. I tried copying my photos without the light box and just wasn’t happy with the quality of the images I was getting until I got the Photomyne Light box. What a difference this makes for the quality of the photos in terms of glare and shadows, especially when working with old glossy images. It folds up into a compact rectangle that’s easy to store and in its own carrying case which means all the rest of my little gadgets (the clicker and the phone stand can be packed into the same bag so I don’t lose them. It’s great too as a shadow box for small objects that you might want to photograph.

Great way to save photos and get near perfect results

It did not help at all with glare and light was not sufficient. Worst part was trying to fold it to put away. Popped up and almost broke my glasses and bruised my nose. Now too bent to use. Trash.

Watch out when you remove this from the case it comes in. It almost gave me a black eye because it suddenly bursts open and it’s big with hard rods in it! I’m small but it could even hurt a tall person! Since I wanted it for cutting glare to photos I’ve been trying to scan onto my iPhone, I tried it out but had to actually get inside of it with my iPhone to scan the photo. I was very disappointed because if anything, it added glare and didn’t cut the natural light the instructions recommend at all. Suffice to say, I’m returning it. Did I mention this tent is REALLY BIG??? So nope… it’s no help at all!
