y 23 lb. part Maine Coon needs ample litter box space. Has anyone used this with a very large cat?

My cat is 16 pounds and half Maine Coon. I had high hopes for this box, but it’s the second day and he peed straight out the opening and thru the seam, where the top and bottom connect. I didn’t even get it for him. I have a 17 yr old calico that can’t do the stairs to the basement where the boxes are, so put this one in a piece of furniture for hiding a litter box and he climbed in and peed out. Ugh! The opening is too big. It needs to be narrower.

Is it easy to scoop the litter when the cover is in? Is the opening wide enough that this is easy to do?

The box and opening is large but probably not as easy to scoop with the cover on. The lid snaps on and off easily.

I don’t know, but my cats love it and so do I. As I said I’m getting another one. I haven’t had any problems and it’s easy to clean.
