Very Practical Guide
This guide is full of very practical hands-on guidance to put your own index together. As a self-published author of non-fiction books, I couldn't afford a professional indexer, and this guide led me through step-by-step what was needed to build a useful index in MS Word.

Excellent Manual, But...
For my first experience at indexing a book, I went online and watched several tutorials. Michelle Campbell-Scott's was by far the most helpful for me. I bought the book. Excellent, except the screenshots that she admitted were difficult and unclear, should have been left out, period. Shabby and useless distraction in an otherwise most clearly written and helpful book.

But the book is not only about the practicalities of using MS Word: it also gives important insights into the indexing process - what to include, what to leave out. Highly recommended!
