Easy to rewire.
This specific bulb eliminates the flourecent ballast which is great but you will need basic electrical knowledge and tools. You will need A wire cutter / stripper, some pliers and maybe a screwdriver for opening the light fixture and a few of your favorite type wire splices. Don't forget to turn the power off before starting. Start to finish was about 10 minutes for a 4 tube fixture and what a difference! Ordered a 2nd case of ten. Relamping my detached 2 bay garage which will take 26 LED tubes. Hope to buy another case next month to finish the job. Great Product. Reasonable price. I bought the first case to relamp my master walkin closet and the laundry room and the light over the lavatory sink They have all been working for at least 2 years with no problem. I might change my connected garage over to two 8 foot, four tube fixtures from the current 2 fixtures with three 60 watt equivalent LED screw in bulbs. You will love the difference so much it will be hard to stop. Sunco makes great retrofit puck type LED lights too. Bathroom, vanities and ketchen - fantastic! Good luck with your lighting upgrades!

Bright, Efficient Upgrade for Fluorescent Replacements
Bright, Efficient Upgrade for Fluorescent Replacements I picked up this 10-pack of Sunco T8 LED 4-foot bulbs to replace older fluorescent tubes in my garage and workshop, and the difference is night and day. At 5000K, the light is crisp and daylight-balanced, which really helps with visibility for detailed tasks. The frosted lens diffuses the light well, so thereโs no harsh glare, just even illumination across the room. Installation requires a ballast bypass since these are single-ended power Type B tubes. That means a little wiring work is necessary, but once done, theyโre very straightforward to pop in. I actually prefer this design because you eliminate the ballast as a potential failure point down the line, which should make the fixtures more reliable long-term. Just be careful to follow the instructions closely and make sure the fixture is wired correctlyโespecially if youโre not familiar with electrical work. Each tube puts out 2200 lumens at only 18 watts, which is a big efficiency gain compared to the 32-watt fluorescent tubes I replaced. They fire up instantly with no flicker, and thereโs zero hum (a big improvement over my old buzzing fluorescents). The build quality feels solid, and the frosted coating helps hide the LEDs for a cleaner look. If you have a lot of fixtures to upgrade, the 10-pack is a great value. These also carry UL certification, which gave me peace of mind about safety. Bottom line: A worthwhile upgrade for anyone wanting brighter, flicker-free lighting with long-term energy savings. Just be ready for the initial rewiring, after which they perform flawlessly.

Product has changed since my previous review - see bottom
Arrived in two days. All intact. Let me help with instructions: on T8 fixtures you do not need to remove the ballast. On T12 fixtures you DO need to remove the ballast and direct wire the sockets. However, the instructions are less than clear. On a standard T12 fixture, each socket on each end has one positive and one negative connection. That is not the case with these LED bulbs. You must wire black to one end, white to the other. However, only one pin on each end of each bulb is live (the other pin is just there to hold the lamp in the fixture) and the two pins that complete the circuit are diagonally opposite each other. Fortunately, all bulbs are identical, so once you figure out one, you've got 'em all. So you must either a) connect black to both wires in the socket at one end and white to both wires in the socket at the other end, or b) figure out using a multimeter which is the live pin on each end of the bulb and ensure there is a black wire to that side of the socket on one end and a white wire to the diagonally opposite side of the socket on the other end. I hope that is clear. Update: First let me say I am VERY satisfied with the tubes I bought previously (discussed above). They come on instantly at full brightness in the hottest of hot weather and the coldest of cold weather in my unheated Michigan garage, even in the dead of winter. They are very bright and I like the color (5,000K). They are all still working as good as they day I installed them several years ago. Bottom line: They are a VAST improvement over standard 4 foot fluorescent tubes in every respect. So I just bought another box to convert more fixtures. In my previous review I explained how to wire them properly. These new tubes are wired differently from the previous ones. On these, connect live (black) to one pin and neutral (white) to the other on one end of the tube. Do not connect anything to the other end of the tube. Neither pin on the other end carries any current; they are both dead pins there to hold the tube in the fixture. Again, the instructions aren't very clear; however, the bulbs themselves are marked. As before, remove the ballast from the fixture and discard it.

Don't throw those old flourescent fixtures away!
I used these tubes as LED replacements for ballast-type fixtures, since I had several with bad bulbs/ballasts. The first shipment of ten bulbs arrived in a box that was on it's last leg and had obviously been handled carelessly during it's journey. The box had been dropped on one end, breaking the mounting pins and rendering 4 of 10 bulbs unusable. Reported to Amazon and they sent out another shipment that took 3 days. Directions are included on how to convert the old fixtures to LED, removing the ballast in the process. These LED bulbs use power at only one end, and the fixture wires on the other end are cut off and removed from the tombstones, which I reused. Those tombstones without wiring are responsible for securing one end of the bulb and nothing else. I installed new non shunted tombstones for the powered ends and connected them in a parallel fashion, which made the wiring simple and with fewer crude connections. The only wire nuts used were for connecting the main power and neutral wires from the switch, and the bare copper wire for the ground was left undisturbed. There are several YouTube videos on how to do this. The lights are bright and don't hum, and they are plastic - not glass. Even though I have 3 fixtures that hold four bulbs, two bulbs is enough light and is as bright as four fluorescent bulbs.. It's been a couple of months and they're holding up well. Would definitely buy again. 7/01/2022 - UPDATE - So far, I have not experienced any failures or malfunctions involving these T-8 LED replacements and it's been two years. There are several fixtures in the shop that are left on for 24 hrs, and even these have performed really well and do not get hot. To alter a fluorescent fixture to be able to use these bulbs is just a matter of knowing how to follow directions. With these bulbs, the power is supplied only on one end and the ballast is not used. Complete, easy-to-follow instructions are included within each individual bulb. I've been very pleased with these bulbs.

Easy install and work perfectly
The tubes were packed well and arrived unbroken and in perfect condition. After removing the ballast and straight wiring the fixture the tubes went right in and work perfectly.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE these
We have 5 fluorescent fixtures in our garage, and have more than half the time had the situation where a bulb or ballast needs replacing, so we've not often had all fixtures light up fully when we've turned the switch on. Not anymore! We LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE these! They turn on, are bright, and I'll never need to bother with bulbs or ballasts again! I decided to go the route of removing all the ballasts to eliminate that point of failure, and adding labels "LED Bulbs Only". Possibly with built in fixtures the only option is to work overhead with them. Fortunately ours are free hanging so I was able to retrofit them on the bench. Much easier and I was able to plug them in to test before hanging again from the ceiling! They are 5000k (daylight) rated bulbs, and they are brighter than standard 38 watt florescent bulbs. If you are looking for a similar brightness to regular florescent bulbs, you may want to purchase 4000k, or possibly the 3000k (warm white). In the garage though, we wanted bright, and they certainly are!. The only detail I was a little unclear of from the connection diagram is that the connection at each end of the bulb needs to be to both pins and not only one. A very minor detail, but being that they would be connecting to the full outlet voltage, I wanted to be as confident as I could before energizing. Still very appreciative the diagram is included on the product page! Turning on the lights now and having them light up bright and light up every time is SOOOOO worth the few hours it took to complete them all! You won't be disappointed if you make the change.

Great
Just received and installed eight of ten in a couple of hours. Very pleased with the results. Being frosted gives nice even but bright light. Some electrical savvy required to bypass ballast for best and most efficient results. Used some of the review tips on Amazon.com but basically all connections at one end can be line and the other end is neutral.

Totally satisfied. Only time will tell if they last long
Installed these in my garage without ballasts. Bright white light, even brighter than a brand new fixture that was whiter than my old tubes. Totally satisfied. Only time will tell if they last long...

Great! .
Love these. They work with the ballast left in, but too many on the same run and weird things happen. pull the ballasts and they work great. I've bought about 40of these now.

These lights met my expectations. They seem to be ...
These lights met my expectations. They seem to be as bright as the slightly higher wattage bulbs they replaced. There is no delay when turning them on. No buzzing or flickering either, likely due to removing the ballasts prior to ordering these. Would have given 5 stars had one of the lights not been damaged. Not a shipping issue as the packaging was intact, no signs of bumping โฆ It works, so I didn't return it, or seek a replacement for it.
