The item is aesthetically of good quality. The handling is good, very light weight (hence dangling on my car key chain) - but this is an item that cannot be tested for performance unless an emergency arises, requiring the car window to be broken. Then it is anyone's guess if it would work. Fingers crossed. I have several backups, just in case.

This tool is a must have for emergencies.It could save a life. The Resqme is reasonably priced and all car owners and passengers (adults only, never children) should keep one handy. Attach it to your keychain or just hang it on your RVM.

Perfect vehicle rescue tool. In 42 years as a firefighter paramedic i have never seen a seat belt buckle fail to release the seat belt. I suppose it could happen but I have never seen it. I have, on several occasions have cut seat belts because from where I was at the time, it was easier and quicker to cut it than reach or struggle to get to the latch. The window punch/glass breaker however, is an essential tool for shattering the side or rear windows. They totally shatter and destroy the side and rear windows in an instant when quick egress is essential like in a car crash where there's a fire, or if the car is submerged in water, or is sinking in water. The capability of having both a glass breaker and seat belt cutter on one tool that can be attached to your key chain is an invaluable tool to have.

I bought this 2-pack so both my wife and I have one in our cars. The quality of the Resqme tool is legendary for a reason—it’s compact but feels very well-engineered. It was incredibly easy to attach to my keyring so it’s always within reach if the seatbelt jams or the windows won't open. It's a very cheap price to pay for the peace of mind knowing my family has a way out in an emergency. Every parent should have these.

This is my second purchase, and although I can't say to the effectiveness of this device (and I hope I will never have to), I have tested the window breaker mechanism and it is VERY painful. Make sure you test it out on a piece of wood if you have to, and not your hands (silly me!). For some reason the window breaker does not reset correctly sometimes. To do a manual reset you would have to find a thin metal rod (like a screwdriver) and push the pin all the way back in until it clicks. This could be a concern as the tip of the breaker may become blunt, and if it fails to reset should you find yourself unsuccessful at breaking a window when you need to, good luck! The knife edge is very sharp and I sometimes use it as a letter opener.
