My son and I had a blast building this together! It is made of great quality! Though some of the pieces had a harder time sticking, it was easily corrected with small dabs of super glue. I It is overall a stunning work of art. The material is a thick cardboard and pre colored. The lights were easy to install. The smaller pieces are a bit more challenging and delicate to put/ place where needed. My recommendation for age would be 12 and older if done on one's own and has patience, or 5 and up with an adult (like I did with my son).

Anfangs war ich skeptisch ob ein Papiermodell vernünftig aussehen kann ,und ob das qualitativ was hergibt. Die Bögen sind ordentlich in einem Karton verpackt ,mit guter Anleitung ,und ein Paar Hintergründe zum Schiff. ( Infos sind in Englisch aber gut verständlich) Das Modell lässt sich gut bauen da die Pappkarton Teile recht stabil sind, es ist nicht zu leicht aber auch nicht zu anspruchsvoll. Die Kabel für die Beleuchtung sowie Batteriekasten sind gut zu verlegen bedingt durch die genaue Anleitung. Bei den Laternen sollte man sich genau an die Anleitung halten ist was kniffeliger. Es wird an sich kein Werkzeug oder Klebstoff benötigt, bei den Masten habe ich dann doch mal mit Kleber nachgeholfen. Das Ergebnis ist ansehnlich und im Dunkeln auch recht hübsch anzusehen, und größer als ich dachte. Viel Spaß beim bauen für alle die sich für den Bausatz entscheiden

If you like building models or you're an avid fan of puzzles, this kit should absolutely be on your very short list! A word of advice, pay the extra bucks for the LED version of the kit. I promise, you will be happy that you did. The LED lights really "Pop" this model. My friends and family all want to know which store I bought this at so they can get one of their own! When I told them that they'd have to build it, the look on their faces was priceless - lol I absolutely loved building this kit! The instructions are clear and concise and leave no doubt as to which piece goes where. Although the instructions state that no glue is necessary, which is how I did this build, if I were to do it over again, I would have had a tube a glue handy (not super glue!). While the various pre-cut pieces fit each other well, it is still only foam backed paper, and a touch of glue on the numerous connections and joints will make this model as solid as a rock! Overall build time was approximately 8 hours, which was probably due as much to me having to finding the right part and popping it out of one of the 10 sheets of precut parts, as it was to me just taking my time and enjoying the process. I took my time and did the build over several evenings, which I found to be very relaxing and cathartic. :) Even without using glue, this model still feels quite solid and substantial. I was amazed at how good the finished ship looks and feels, especially with the LEDs on and sinister red lighting in the background. This ship is a model of Blackbeard's Queen Anne's Revenge, but frankly, I think it looks much more like the Black Pearl in Pirates of the Caribbean. (see pics) I highly recommend this kit for anybody looking for a way to spend several enjoyable evenings building out a beautiful ship that will look stunning wherever you display it. A second word of advice, although I believe that even novice builders can tackle this kit with a good result, some experience with modeling is probably necessary to do it true justice.
