Not a life changer, but a fine lid for my Chemex Glass Coffeemaker
Hmmm, if you've got the coffeemaker, why not get the right lid? Not to expensive, totally matches. Keeps my coffee from getting cold too fast. *****Edit****** I just ran an experiment to see how well this lid slows the cooling process. THE SETUP: A nearly full pot of water was put in my Chemex pot. The starting temperature was over 170 degrees. When the temperature got down to 165 degrees I started a timer. I stopped the timer when the temperature got down to 135 degrees. I chose the 165 degrees because its about the lower end of temperatures I've recorded when the coffee is finished filtering (sometimes I brew at 180 and then forget the coffee is done for a few minutes, and I've found the pot at 168 degrees in that case). I chose 135 degrees because the coffee is still hot enough that it can't be gulped yet, at least not by me. I performed this measurement twice: once without the top and once with the top. The ambient room temperature was 70 degrees and the water volume was nearly identical. The thermometers I used were one metal probe digital thermometer and one glass lab thermometer. The glass thermometer was used to start and stop the timer, although the digital thermometer was within a 1 degree agreement at all times. The glass and digital thermometers were carefully placed in the same position for both trials and immersed about 2" and 1" below the water line respectively. I didn't disturb the water during the trial. There was still ample space in the pour spout gap in the Chemex pot that is not occluded by the lid. RESULTS: Without Lid: 34 minutes With Lid: 50 minutes SUMMARY: The lid does slow the cooling of the coffee. The coffee gets cold fast, but the lid stretches the drink time enough to get a second or third cup before the gulping begins.

Still does not keep your coffee hot for long… spout left open.
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This heavy glass seems sturdy and it does generally fit the chemex however the part of the chemex where you pour (where the spout is) is still left open with this lid so it does not maintain temperature for long as steam is still escaping. Would be nice if it had a silicone seal around it and a small silicone flap to cover the open area of the spout. Room for improvement.

Nice Addition
I like the looks of it and serves the purpose. It does not have a rubber seal which would have been nice. I still love it though.

Nice overall but don't recommend for the small Chemex
Most people use the medium or large sizes of Chemex & for those, this works great. I have the smallest sized one & the opening on the top is smaller. This doesn't really fit with any snugness on it & sits pretty loosely, so I would not recommend it for this size. We also have a medium sized Chemex & it fits great on that one, so it is highly recommended if that is what you use at home.

Chemex makes great coffee!
The Chemex coffee even improves the taste of less expensive coffees and for tea. When my former Chemex was accidentally dropped on the floor I tried several types of coffee makers, all were more convenient but even the highest grade product didn’t taste as well. We do own an electric coffee maker which is used for serving large numbers, the Chemex gives exactly what you want: strong or mild. The design is beautiful. It does come in larger sizes than mine. Mine is smaller, serving 2-4 people and takes less time and counter space. If you don’t want to spend ten to 25 minutes between boiling the water and pouring it over the coffee-not too fast, that would be a problem for you. The cone shaped paper filters are sold separately and not expensive.

Superb and charming
Perfect fit (for ly 6 cup model; I’m sure it works in all of them). It does the job, keeps the heat in and adds a nice finishing touch to my Chemex coffee maker.
