The description says fits doors up to 36” wide and my door was 36” wide so I thought, “Perfect! This will work great for my new sliding barn door!” WRONG.THE TRUTH IS - the hardware would fit ANY DOOR of ANY WIDTH... the IMPORTANT dimension here is the doorway opening width.Once I got everything installed, it looked fine when the door was closed shut, but when I would slide it as far as I could to open It, the back end (not the leading end) of the door stayed about a foot into the doorway opening, leaving about 2 feet of doorway to slide through. And, although I could easily get through the doorway opening, it looked Jank and very amateur imo.. The 72” or 6’ track (minus 8” for the side - as instructions state is manditory, and the few inches on the opposite end) Left about 60” of usable track.. minus 36” leaves you with 24” For clearance in the doorway.So just to hopefully save someone a few weeks of lead time ordering, waiting, then reordering the right size hardware, and waiting some more.. not to mention the time I wasted getting it all installed to realize it wouldn’t work, buyer beware. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend the 6’ hardware and track to anyone with a door width over 30”.. but more importantly, measure both the door and the doorway opening.. add those together and then add roughly 12 more inches for track end clearance that is not functional for travel. If that is over 72”, you will not be able to slide your door all the way open and out of the door way opening.Hope this helps.also, this seller isn’t much of a problem solver or very helpful.👍🏼

I typically rely on reviews before making a purchase. However, I typically do NOT write reviews. BUT when something exceeds my expectations, I feel obligated to rate the product and share with others. This is one of those instances. The fact you receive ALL the hardware needed to hang a barn door at the price it is selling for is amazing! The weight of the hardware is substantial, it is heavy and well made. It definitely checks all the boxes, affordable price, quality product AND it looks FANTASTIC once hung! I am very happy with this purchase!

I really can't judge the sturdiness of the product because it's only been up for a day, but I can say that it took my contractor several hours to put together and install. Also, for those considering a barn door, be careful with the length of the door which may not be long enough to accommodate the height of both the door molding and the header required to strengthen the hardware and door.

I love when I get an idea and I’m able to manifest it on Amazon. Needed to convert a pocket door to a barn door and it worked. I did hire someone to install but they didn’t have a problem. I’m happy to have found a solution.
