Perfect replacement for 90 HP Yamaha outboard Fuel/Water separator. Might want to get a socket (74mm with 14 flutes) as shown in the photo to help loosen the old one -- especially if the filter is in a tight area (when is it not?).

These shorter filters are a good choice for areas with limited access. That being said, there are two key considerations to take into account. First, they are only to be used with engines up to 115hp. Second, the threaded hole in the center of the filter is smaller than the bigger filters.

Always run a water separating fuel filter. ALWAYS!! I have a few boats. This went on a J16 Carolina Skiff with a new Yamaha 40. I only run non-ethanol fuel in my boats. I only use OEM Yamaha parts. Why? **points to my 23 year old 20 foot center console with a Yamaha 115hp on it that has almost 10,000 hours** Because that boat is still running trouble free after all these years of using it as a commercial guide boat. And I want to get over 20 years out of this little flats boat too.
