We purchased our first RV it's a 1999 Tioga. The roof was completely black. It had never been done. I followed the instructions and both the primer and top coat worked exactly as described. Yes, the primer will be tacky, yes, if you touch it, step on it or disturb it. It's very sticky. That's its job. We did 3 coats of primer and 3 coats of top. We are a 29' class C and still had almost a full gallon of each left. We used rollers just plain cheep ones. We did use brushes along the edge. We were in Colorado with low humidity and mid 50 nights and mid 80 days. It took a total of 4 days. I'm sure you could do it faster but this worked for us. Make sure to wait until it's at least 50 to start. Other than that. This was a fantastic product. We has had no issues with leaks. Those that left bad reviews obviously just can't follow directions. If you can you will 💯 be happy.

I'm currently working on my old 1993 Sierra 5th wheel and seriously doubt the roof has been taken care of over the past 10+ yrs. Was considering not buying this primer and only buying the rubber sealant, since the roof did have a rubber sheet that was covering it. However, on closer inspection, I found that it was cracked in several locations and needed extra care and sealing so, I decided not to be cheap and bought this primer. Did test a spot on the roof with only the rubber sealant paint and found out that the rubber paint, covers better/thicker when I used this Liquid Rubber EPDM Roofing Primer first. A word of CAUTION... Do NOT paint the whole roof of your trailer with the primer and then think you can walk on the roof and paint the rubber sealant paint. This stuff IS sticky and stays sticky and your feet will get stuck. Not that you can't remove your feet but, you are fairly high up in the air and getting a foot stuck can result in you tripping and heavens forbid, falling off the side of the roof. Paint the primer in sections where you know you can reach with a roller attached to a broom handle or other. Then go back and paint another section with the primer, overlapping a bit of the previously painted primer. Paint the rubber sealant paint over that when it's dry/tacky and so forth. Once you've got a whole coat of the rubber sealant paint on your roof, you can walk on it when it's dry and paint the rest of the coats you will need to make sure your roof is waterproof. I also re-caulked, primed and painted around all the vents, prior to dealing with the whole roof. I'm very pleased with the result!!

I bought this for my camper renovation. With a few help from online tutorials, install went without hiccup. I have also bought the brand’s paint and application was manageable. Will review it’s durability after some time. Great product!

This primer is very strong and sticky. It does its job, but even when it dries you won't be able to walk on it on the roof of your RV or you'll get stuck with your shoes. Even after 3 days, it is still sticky. So, if you want to paint your roof with liquid rubber afterwards, you have to wet your shoe soles to get a step at all. It is best to walk on the freshly laid liquid gum and follow from the beginning of the roof to the end. Otherwise, you tear the membrane off the camper's roof, trying to tear your shoes off the camper's roof.
