A wonderful glue that does a job others can't.
I bought this when desperate to find something that would really hold the knots in a clear plastic cord I use to string large beads in a bracelet. The plastic is elastic so that the bracelets don't need fasteners, but some other glues I have used couldn't stand up to the stress of being pulled this way and that. (The cord in question is "POWERCORD, Clear 1.0mm, #1708BS, in case anyone else is having the same problem.) E6000 glue held for awhile, but then the knot I had used it on came undone. Several bracelets with G-S Hypo have been going strong for over a year or more. I am still amazed that G-S holds slippery plastic cord so well. Not only the quality of the glue, but the very fine tip where the glue comes out, is noteworthy. This tip, about the thickness of a thick hypodermic needle, fits right into the square knots I tie in the cord, and the G-S begins to harden fast enough so that I can hold the tension on the knot until it "takes," after which I do not use the bracelet and put a strain on it for about 24 hours, just to make sure. Another point (big!) in favor of G-S is that the cap contains a very thin needle that fits down into the dispenser nozzle. It never gets stuck in there, but it prevents the remaining glue from being exposed to the air or oozing out of the tube. What an ingenious solution! This is important. I am still using my first tube of G-S, while E-6000, which I have used successfully for a few other types of jewelry where a hard element had to withstand a degree of stress (like on old-fashioned tie clips), seems to lose its power rather soon. Whether that is due to its ordinary cap, I don't know, but I was very disappointed when the largish tube I had bought became worthless after just a couple of uses. I see that now the company has caught on and they are selling it in much smaller individual tubes. Anyway, G-S Hypo wins hands-down: its holding power, its cap, the thin dispenser, and the fact that it can apparently be expected to keep working until I have used all the glue in the tube have decided me to try it on other pieces as a substitute for E-6000.
