Does this relay have a diode built-in across the input? The schematic printed on the cube looks like it might. Thanks.

There is no discrete clamping diode across the coil; there is an LED indicating coil activation, and it only lights with pin 14 positive in my tests (12 VDC model).

Can the relay be energized 100% OF the time, like a pilot ?

Yes. We use this relay to energize the 1A, 12V magnetic lock on doors as part of our access control system. The doors are only locked as long as the magnetic latch is energized, and thus the relay is only de-energized briefly when someone is granted access via an electronic badge. This is a fire code requirement so that doors fail open in the event of a power failure. The key to lifetime on relays like this one is to keep total operating cycles as low as possible. For example, when operated perhaps 100 times per day, this will have a lifetime of at least 20 years. Operated 100 times per hour would reduce that to less than one year. But the relay can stay energized indefinitely.

wiring of this relay

If using this relay and socket, LOOK AT THE BOTTOM of the socket, the terminal screw locations are not the same as most "nema" relay sockets as used in the U.S.. Be sure to wire correctly. Used tis for a "hot unit lock-out" relay on my air compressor

Used these for a PLC to turn on and off 120 VAC lights around the house. Works perfectly, just as advertised. Build quality is excellent. Even has a green led to show when coil is actuated. Nice touch. Loved so much, bought some more.
