Reed & Barton Miller Rogaska by Soho Crystal Set of Double Old Fashions, Set of 4-2989-4282

Beautiful glasses. We've been looking for lead crystal glasses, but neither my husband nor I like the look of the traditional cuts in the heavy expensive lead crystal glasses. These are a perfect compromise. Good quality, good heft due to the thick base of the glass, but the walls of the glasses themselves are thinner than your normal lead crystal glasses, and the cuts are clean-lined and classy. Obviously these are not your "Waterford crystal" heavy, pass on to your children glasses. But if you are looking for a well-made, well-priced crystal set that is a step above the normal glass barware, these are perfect. Came individually wrapped in paper in a partitioned cardboard box. Box was wrapped in bubble wrap and put in the shipping box.

I wanted a (single) old fashioned set for mixed drinks (fill one of these up with a genuine margarita and someone's gonna need a ride). Alas, after all the apparent controversy, these are actually double old fashioned glasses. For those who want to know, a single old fashioned glass won't be more than about 3.5" tall and 3" across and have a 7-10 ounce capacity. The ones I received (4) had "Slovania / Reed and Barton," and "Soho/Double Old Fashioned/Slovania/Full Lead Crystal" stickers. They are 3.25in across the top, 4" tall. The glasses have a relatively thick bottom, with relatively thin sides--thinner than the glass rim of a small pickle (and Trader Joe's dijon mustard jar) and about the same thickness as on of my not-so-delicate (glass) wine stems. The outside is straight, the inside wall becomes thicker in proportion to the "cuts" in the glass. I put "cuts" in parentheses because they have been flame-sprayed (I presume) to the point where one might think that the decoration was molded -- not that there are any signs of being molded anywhere in/on the glasses. Nice glass, very clear, sparkly, and without color. I'd definitely buy them for myself or as a gift.

Researched these glasses among several others online at Amazon and other vendors, and finally chose these because they: 1. Seemed to be good quality; 2. Got the best reviews as compared to reviews of other glasses I researched, and 3. The one comment about them doing well in the dishwasher actually sold me. Now that I have them (bought them as a Father's Day gift for my partner) they are great as they: 1. Have nice weight in the hand; 2. Look classy when empty and filled; 3. "Sort of" match the expensive crystal decanter I bought him for his bourbon, and 4. They really do okay in the dishwasher. He loves them and tells me so frequently when he drinks out of them which he also does frequently. Good buy.

I bought these several times over the years. The original glasses were very good quality cut crystal. It is immediately obvious the new ones are not the same at all. They are very thick, and not much different than plain glass. Do not buy.

Just bought these glasses for my husband's birthday and we are both very impressed. Each glass is very sturdy and heavy; feels very substantial in your hand. They are well made and look beautiful. I was searching around for scotch glasses, and these seemed to be the best ones in terms of quality and durability. A few other glasses I looked at had complaints that they were so fragile that the glasses broke upon washing. I highly doubt this will happen with these (knock on wood) as they are probably the sturdiest glasses that we own yet. Definitely recommend it!
