MPC TR-302-80 (1673) Door Popper Solenoid

Ordered this 80 lb pull solenoid to replace one that came in the original kit. The original kit was advertised as heavy duty and was 45 lb pull. The 45 lb pull would not consistently open the doors on a 2nd gen Camaro. Only ordered one as I was not sure if this would fix my problem. Solenoid arrived without any instructions, as is the norm. After replacing the screws that hold the solenoid to the bracket, as I did with the first set of solenoids. The screw heads are too large and they will bind the plunger's travel!?!. I used hex head cap screws and they are metric. This would now open the door consistently-so I ordered another solenoid. Both doors now open consistently and I have finally felt confidently enough to install the door panels. The second remote has quit working, at less than a year and only used maybe a dozen times, but that's a problem for another day. I've got way more time and money in this shaved door handle project than I would admit. Don't know what I'm going to do with the old 45 lb solenoids, but I know I'm not going to use them for opening doors.

Burned out in less than two weeks. This replaced a similarly spec'd solenoid that lasted 4 years.
