The instructions call for some precise measurements. I did it the simple way.1. Get a piece of plywood to drill the shutter on.2. Turn the shutter with the back facing up.3. Look for the circles at the areas where their measurements place you.4. Get a punch and hit the center of the circle.5. It will transfer a white dot to the face side.6. Using a drill size they specify, drill the hole.7. Repeat for the remaining 5 holes.If you don’t like my method, use the manufacturer instructions.

I love the shutters - style, weight, construction, color, etc. They come with plastic studs and complicated instructions. The studs did not work great on my house due to three different layers of siding. I ended up reusing the screws from my 25 year-old shutters which installed so much easier and faster. I just got touch-up paint to match the new shutters and they look great. Overall I am very happy but extremely disappointed that they did not come with both the plastic studs AND screws so I could choose which to use.

Nice design, good price - but they are one sided with completely hollow backs.So they cannot be mounted on hinges, or off the siding. THIS IS NOT CLEAR IN THE DESCRIPTION.I'm hoping they don't look totally fake once they're up. Will post a follow up in a month after the house is painted.

Apparently, you cannot paint over the colored shutters as the paint will peel.. so essentially you're stuck with whichever color forever. That's a bad deal in my opinion. So I now have to ship back the Heritage Green (which did not come close to the pretty green trim we have on our home) for the paintable primed ones instead.. which you can strip and repaint over and over. I'm rather miffed the seller does NOT mention this anywhere in the product description! So, if you repaint your home, you gotta scrap the colored ones and buy new shutters.. nice scam if you ask me. Don't make the same mistake I did.. buy the paintable ones and leave yourself option to custom paint your shutters whenever you update your home's exterior.And btw, do NOT follow the manufacturer instructions on mounting these unless you wanna cheapen the look with exposed screw caps that scream vinyl. Instead, build a frame onto the house where you want to mount shutters for a professional look that resembles real shutters.05/28/2020 Update: I contacted the seller to inform of the inaccurate product description that omits declaiming the fact that the pre-color shutters not only cannot be painted, but doing so voids the mfr warranty! Omg, this should be mentioned in BOLD CAPITAL LETTERS to clearly warn buyers. But the seller refuses to add this disclaimer and is adamantly refusing to be forthright with Amazon customers in any way about this -- in essence, the seller wants you to make multiple, ongoing future purchases every time you wish to refresh your home's exterior. That's despicable and glaring proof of dishonesty and lack of transparency -- NOT a business I trust nor wish to do business with again with in future.Buyers Beware: should you opt for pre color ones, you're committing to that color for lifetime of that shutter! If you prefer to have flexibility to change the exterior colors of your home, do NOT buy the colored shutters and instead choose the primed paintable ones. And note: the prices have now spiked from $48.10 to $53.80 ... so it's all quite clear how this seller makes money in raising retail prices when you have to exchange or buy new ones. This is a scandalous, deplorable selling strategy -- dont get scammed like me!

We replaced the shutters on our house (a few were missing and the rest were faded) with these shutters. It was nice that you could select the size and color. There is a bigger selection here than our local big box store and also cost a little less. The holes are not predrilled but that was fairly easy. Overall it was a harder project than we anticipated (drilling holes in the brick way up on a ladder) but after buying a hammer drill and cement bit successfully completed this DIY project. Looks great!

Was planning on buying wooden shutters in this same exact style but decided to buy just one pair to check them out. Believe me, when I took these out of the box, I thought no way am I keeping as they are plastic but once we put them up, I honestly cannot tell the difference between the wooden ones and these, even up close. I went back and purchased another 4 sets. Couldn't be happier with these shutters and you cannot beat the price!

The shutters look nice and are easy to install. They would be 5 star except the material is a bit thin and flimsy, and the plastic mounting fasteners are garbage. Instead of using the fasteners, I had to buy anchors and screws to mount these, I had to find screws with black caps so the screws heads won't show which were not easy to find.

The shutters were just as described. You do have to drill holes to mount them, which was not a problem for me since I have a wood sided house. Measured and drilled the first one, then used that as a template for drilling the others. I did receive 2 of the 6 that I purchased with what appeared to be a manufacturing defect. I contacted customer service, emailed pictures of the problems and they quickly sent me 2 replacements. Very pleased!
