If you like the old one better, were you able to get used to the new one?  Or did you find something else?  I loved old one, and hate the new chunky!

I hate the new one too! I bought this because the close up picture is like the old ones, and I was surprised when the package arrived. I started having terrible tooth sensitivity on my upper cuspids and realized it was due to the new mouth guard. I readjusted the guard and the sensitivity is not as bad, but I really don't like the new version.

Does this work for children

I don't think so.  This is made for an adult mouth.  My kids have retainers to stop damaging their teeth.  They look just like retainers for keeping teeth straight and they work like a charm.  You have to get those fitted at an orthodontist or a dentist that does Invisalign.  Most charge $50-100.

Can this be worn during the day? Is it obvious you are wearing it and can you talk with it in?

ehhhhhh, you CAN wear it during the day but it would be noticeable.  there is nothing in the back to keep it stuck to your molars.  it works GREAT with your mouth closed.  I honestly have not worn it during the day.  the front band (that holds the two back parts) does sit VERY LOW along your bottom row of teeth SO you cannot really see that when you are wearing it BUT when you open your mouth the BACK parts would move which would be very noticeable.Can this be worn during the day? Yes, the Sun will not prevent this from working Is it obvious you are wearing it? Obvious, no.  Some people are very oblivious.  But it would be noticeable.Can you talk with it in? Yes, but NOT comfortably.  It would sound like you have something in your mouth (because you do).

Can this be worn with an upper partial?

It’s one piece and it goes between both first molars - there is no top and bottom. Scroll over to the 3rd or 4th picture on the product and you’ll see how it fits between you’re teeth.
