Not your grandmaโs sardines (unless granny is from Portugal)
I really donโt like sardines, but experimenting with cheap protein. This is great, really does have a whole chilli in, looks beautiful, and tastes great - not particularly fishy, not even particularly spicy. Fab on a sandwich with nothing else added, but would be brilliant with addition of some type of chutney. Seems very good quality. Will order more!

Damaged tins, strong taste, quite a lot of oil.
This is the first time I have tried these sardines.Unfortunately, one of the tins had been squashed and some of the content had escaped. Thankfully there weren't any books inside the parcel. Another of the tins was also banged up, but the content was still intact. That's the one I tried today (I had to throw away the content of the other tin) and while these sardines are quite nice, I thought there was quite a lot of sunflower oil in the tin and the chilli was a little too 'hot' for me. Going forward, I wouldn't eat these on their own, as a snack, but with bread, rice, or lettuce, because of hot the chilli is and how much sunflower oil there is.
