Q: Can this lemon oil be used for dusting furnture that has a hared fniish such as a laqure?

I guess it does. Some of my furniture is varnished or tainted wood, and some is lacquered. What I do recommend is to clean the stains with a damp cloth and soap before using this oil. The oil does not clean stains, it just protects wood and gives it a wonderful scent. Hope this helps.

Q: how does this compare with "Guardsman" lemon oil? My cousin was in the wood working business many years ago and he always told me to use Formby's.

While "Guardsman" lemon oil may be an excellent treatment. I've never used it. Now, I have used Formbys, and it has always worked very well for me. I trust it to give me an excellent finish.

Q: Can I use it on kitchen utensils like knife handles?

It works best on wood, and better if itis not painted or varnished. It is an oil -- lemon oil - and is marvelous on furniture
