Surprisingly good recipes that work, are tasty, satisfying and best of all good for you!
I had previously purchased a different plant forward keto book and was very disappointed. I thought that perhaps it wasn't possible to make delicious keto meals. Giving up most carbs in general was hard for me since I don't love meat in general and love a good crunch. Due to my own and familial health reasons, I was incentivized to make low carb work, but disappointed that I just wasn't satisfied with meal options. I was watching a video by Dr Nick Norwitz and saw this cookbook he recommended. Skeptical, but I trust Dr Norwitz, I thought I'd give it a try. The recipes actually work and are tasty. I made the Quick low carb avocado toast (toast was decent tasting), Green Spinach & Salmon crepes, greek salad, super seed crackers, halva, biscotti, caring nut clusters and made zucchini spirals. They all worked and tasted good. I was surprised! Looking forward to trying more recipes from the cookbook! I really appreciate the Introduction and how it easily outlines the key foods to eat and the science behind why they are good for you. Picture in the review is of the caring nut clusters I made this evening - yum!

Tasty, simple, easy to follow recipes
Great book, I highly recommend it, especially, if like me, you are new to KETO. Informative introduction, detailing the science behind the Mediterranean Diet and KETO, the various staple super foods, foundational veggies and nutrition. Provides a good basis for cupboard and regular shopping list items. I've only had the book for a couple of weeks but have already tried several recipes. None have disapointed. The Harissa Liver, Chicken Tarragon, Salmon Ratatouille Skillet and Superfood Shakshuka where especially suburb; the non KETO family members couldn't belive it was 'diet food'. The recipes are quick, simple, easy to follow and don't require a high degree of culinary expertise. What I especially like about the recipes is the attention given to nutrition. Too many KETO recipies seem to focus only on being low carb or as few ingredients as possible, but here, the main meal recipies follow the KETO micronutrient ratio, plus have a healthy fat profile and Omega-6/3 ratio. It really helps when trying to formulate a daily nutrionally balanced diet. Off now to cook the Moroccan Lamb Tagine!!

Recommend
The introduction is written to keep one's interest in the subject. Read cover to cover, it is going to be expensive and maybe source challenging to outfit your pantry with the ingredients if you don't have them in stock. I've only made one recipe so far, pg 90, steak salad bowl. This is a brilliant and delicious recipe! Subbed romaine for the other options. The parsley ( I used flat leaf Italian) gremolata is outstanding as salad dressing. Best keto book (with Mediterranean focus) I've come across. Will require effort and $$$ to transition to these meals but repairing chronic disease and restoring good health is a great motivator.

Great for anyone struggling to know what to cook on keto
This is my first dish, Spanish Scramble, Page 47, I had to use spinach instead of chard, and I used Linda McCartney vegetarian sausages, lowest carb vegetarian sausages I can find, instead of the sausage in the recipe. If this was on a menu I would have avoided, but it tastes great, even my non vegetarian, not keen on vegetables partner enjoyed it. I have recently after 40 plus years as a vegetarian, decided to eat some omega 3 rich fish, mainly because doing Keto as a vegetarian and watching all of Thomas Delauer videos, as well as lots of other research, I realise that for many years despite being morbidly obese, mostly caused by I'll health, medications and disabilities, but also my carb addiction, that I was not getting enough nutritional value from my food to improve my health, well over 40 years of low fat, high fibre diets have taken their toll. This book is absolutely perfect, it explains the recipes really well, there is even a QR code in the back for further reading, not recipes, but absolutely brilliant information. I found most of the ingredients easy to but from Lidl and Asda here in the UK, I'm also shopping in Aldi and of course online, I can't afford organic, but most of the ingredients can be found and most can have cheaper versions. I would highly recommend this book to anyone new or been doing keto for a long time, especially with all the included knowledge, not just basic recipes. I do love that this book is in oz and grams, it makes it so much easier. I would love a vegetarian version of a Mediterranean keto recipe book and also for low budgets, that explained things in as much detail, and also some pointers to where to buy products in the UK and other countries, because a lot of the reviews say they don't like this amazing book, because they can't find the ingredients, it would also be great to have a list of substitutions for people with allergies, cost restrictions and not being able to source soke of the products. I am really looking forward to trying more of these recipes.
