Little bit steep regarding the price, but nice enough
I play guitar for atleast 4 hours a day unless Im really busy. I often gig and busk in my local area and I'm forever purchasing new strings. Elixir strings feel premium and are of a premium price compared to a Martin, D'Addario or Ernie Ball equivalent and in lots of respects; they simply do not stand up to experimental fingerstyle playing/heavy strumming as well as you'd like. In my experience ALL STRINGS except Elixir Tone & Feel (Gray and purple packaging with no coatings) deteriorate quickly. If you can find the true Tone & Feel strings they are the one to buy

What can I say? They're Elixirs!
I switched to Elixir strings many years ago and have never moved to anything else! I've used them on many acoustics and electrics. I used to use D'darrio & martin but the elixirs for me are the best especially because they last so long and if I don't play one of my guitars for many months, it's nice to still have working strings on them when I do pick it up.The last set I got though, the 3rd string broke when I put it on. This was a one off and has never happened before in all the packets I have purchased over the years.

Clear as a bell
Elixir strings are familiar to me, I've used them on my dread nought for years, but I replaced D'Addarios on my Ovation as a trial with some trepidation. No need to worry, light and responsive with great tone and sustain, these Polyweb (previously used Nanoweb) are a joy to play. Elixir do seem to outlast other strings and retain that new string punch for longer so I am seriously considering making the change permanent on the Ovation despite my love of D'Addarios (which are truly great strings). It's early days yet, but if these lightweights perform as well as the medium on the dreadnought, I believe that I'll stay with them.If you are hovering whilst considering Elixir, I suggest that you seize the opportunity and give these a go.HOWEVER-fair enough, they started well but fairly rapidly showed signs of wear, the polyweb coating began to flake off the A and D strings in particular. Elixir produce good, reliable strings normally but these did not impress. I've replaced them with Nanoweb which are as good as I expected. If you're contemplating buying these I'd suggest that you buy the Nanoweb equivalent.

Non le ricomprerei
Spedizione perfetta.

The problem with G String
I believe Elixir has a serious manufacturing issue with the string G. I had to replace 3 Elixir sets consecutively due to this problem. The problem is G string starts have cotton threads on it specifically around the spot over the soundhole, the day after, which is my hand picking zone. These silk-like threads over the G string look like a spider web.THe sound quality is not affected however this is annoying enough to replace the stringsThis applies to Polyweb and nanoweb, sets i used are 0.11(Nano) , 0.10(poly) and 0.13(Nano)
