KitchenAid KTEN20SBWH 2.0-Quart Kettle with Full Stainless Steel Handle and Trim Band - White

I purchased this kettle for the holidays and I love it. I've had it for 3 months now & its still like brand new, the bottom doesn't get blackened, no signs of rust or anything inside. The handle is very ergonomic and comfortable to pour. This is a very quality kettle and while it is a little pricey I can tell after 3 months that I will have this kettle for a long time where I would have gone through 2-3 cheaper ones so it works out to be the same price in the long run. It's also very pretty! The picture doesn't do it justice. If you use a teakettle at least 2-3 times a week then you will not be sorry with this choice and if you have a tea lover friend or family member this is a beautiful gift. They will sense the high quality as soon as they open it.

I LOVE my new yellow kettle! NOTE: Yellow color is NOT like the picture. Actually I LOVE it much better than the picture color. The picture looks more like a pastel yellow. I was worried it would kind of disappear in my kitchen. This is definitely not a pastel color. More like a nice ripe Myer lemon, or maybe a shade lighter than the rating stars here. Since it would be a permanent occupant on the stove I wanted a pretty kettle, one that makes a statement. This is totally it. A nice contrast even in a very contemporary kitchen! Very sturdy and feels extremely solid. Does not dribble or spill when pouring. Even when at boiling. No rust issues at all so far. The whistle is not super loud, I thought that it might be a problem in case I went upstairs. But no issue at all. I can hear it even when watching a movie in the family room. I am SO GLAD I spent the extra $30 bucks and got one that I will LOVE for a long time. Thanks KitchenAid!!! :D

I bought the stainless steel 1919 kettle. We use it on our induction stove. Simple and so useful.

Hefty weight and nicely designed. Interior and seams look good. Lid fits tightly. The lift spout works correctly - it stays up when you open it, and stays down securely when closed. The lift spout lever and the pot handle are comfortable and stay heat-free so you don't need a mitt. Pours smoothly. Nice flat bottom sits on gas burner solidly. Looks great in this creamy orange color. While I wouldn't quite describe the noise it makes as "whistling", it does make an attention-grabbing shriek. Perhaps a cross between wind trying to sneak in through your window frame and a whistle after you've eating a packet of saltines. The important thing is that it makes a noise at all, because once I leave the kitchen I totally forget about it. Works as it should! I did a lot of shopping around for a good kettle. It was between this one and the Staub. The Kitchenaid won because it whistles, while the Staub does not. Update 11/30/14: I'm still loving this kettle. Working and looking great. I use it at least twice a day. The whistle never fails.

Recently my old tea kettle's handle broke off. On a search for a new one, I had a few major requirements. First, the tea kettle had to whistle. This one does. It is not loud but it gives an efficient enough whistle as to alert me to it boiling without waking up my toddler from her nap. Two, the tea kettle needed to be designed so that I would not burn my hand upon lifting it. This tea kettle's handle gets a little warm but not hot. I can pick it up without an oven mitt. Three, the kettle had to pour nicely without it dumping or spewing scalding water all over the place. This one pours well. It can pour with or without the little whistle piece down and does not spit hot water everywhere. Four, the tea kettle had to have an inside surface that would not chip off. So far so good, no tea kettle remnants in my hot water. And finally, the tea kettle had to look nice...I was back and forth between this one and the Le Creuset one but am happy I didn't end up spending $100 on the French brand (which is prone to lots off issues according to reviews). This one is perfect and I like the appearance of it so much I leave it out. I have included a picture for you. The red is a beautiful red and turns temporarily darker red/burgundy as it heats up. Very pleased with this purchase.
