how long does the ink cartidges last?

Hi, I just purchased a new HP copier to copy my coloring books so I can keep coloring my favorite pictures. I have been copying dogs and cats and peacocks. Any way it works great but since it's my first printer I've had I decided to check. I copied 30 pages from the books and it was flashing check ink. I did and I shook it and tapped it and put it back in. So far I've copied 3 more pages but don't know how many more it will print. I hope this helps a little. Oh yes They cost about $15. Each
