Top Uhr !

Best watch I have ever owned. (And that includes a Tag, a Rolex, and a Citizen!)
I agonized over which model G-Shock to get. I was replacing a Citizen Promaster Dive watch that I love, but that chews up batteries. Long story short, I decided that is going on ebay, and I am getting a G-Shock. I had one G-Shock solar back in 2010-12 that I had a lot of problems with (holding charge) but I think I did something to cause that, and given the reviews, I knew this would be a watch I could trust. The issue was, there are about 50 models of this thing between standard and limited edition models, and it is hard to know which is which and why what seems to be the same exact thing is $200 more from another seller. I can tell you: These watches have become collectable, and some of the limited edition and Japan only models fetch a lot of money here in the USA. If you are not going to collect it or are not locked into one of the special colors, you can get the one you want much cheaper sticking with the regular USA only release. I'm mostly an avid cyclist and camper, so I wanted features that would be beneficial to me, and I tend to shoot and hunt a lot, so naturally I wound up settling on the Rangeman Master of G series. The only question became, black with positive display or green with negative. I read scores of reviews, watched every video. I was concerned with the reviews that slammed the readibility of the watch, but then I read a few where the reviewer said he could not be happier that he went with the negative display. So that sold me. The price I paid, to me, was very fair. This watch is worth all of the $200 you will pay for it in my estimation. Pros: - Very, very comfortable to wear. Unlike my last watch that always rattled around on my wrist, this one stays put and I forget I have it on. This to me is one of my favorite things about the watch, I forget I am wearing it so I am never thinking "my watch is bugging me, I need to take it off for a bit." - Cool looking. Yeah, I know, but that is one of the things people look for when they are watch shopping. Does it make them happy to look at? - Functionality: Excellent so far. I have not gotten deep into the calibrating of the altimeter or anything like that, but the buttons are easy to push, the automatic time reception is so strong that most nights it picks it up while I am asleep with it on my wrist, and I am nowhere near a window. - Negative Display: Yes, at times it can be hard to read, and I might need to tilt my arm a little more than with a normal watch to get the right angle, but in the daytime, I find it very readable, and at night, I have gotten used to the arm movement you need to use to turn on the light automatically, so no problem there, either. - Band: Love the dual fasteners, the metal band retainer looks good and works great, no sliding around for me and no annoying scratching as I type that makes me want to take off my watch like my previous one. I took that one off all the time at work, the GS? Never. - Color: The green is just about right. whoever said it looks like a WWII tank nailed it. But in no way do I feel like it screams "I am a mall ninja" or "I am a seal team 6 wanna-be!" I don't feel like a poser wearing military gear. Cons: - I wish I could make the light stay on longer, it would make it easier when cycling functions or trying to read the seconds display at night In summary, I am VERY glad I got the one with the negative display, and this is from a guy who needs (but does not own) glasses. I think the negative display is really neat. I think there is a Japan only one that is black with the negative display if the green does not do it for you.

Perfect for the field, outdoor activities, sports, and feeling like an action man from the future.
This watch is everything that I want it to be. I like other ABC watches but the batteries don't last long enough to NOT annoy me. I like receiving the time signal from the USA because accuracy is important for me at work in the military. This fixes all of those things by combing ABC features, adding sunset and sunrise, a member/recall feature, tough solar so that the battery dying every year or less isn't an issue, and it receives the signal from the USA so it's always accurate. I even have DST set to auto so it's the right time even when the time changes. I love that. It receives the signal without difficulty in most places on the main floor of my house near Barrie in Ontario. It's also mud resistant with special buttons designed to keep junk out of the workings. It being mud resistant is a big plus because it means the sensor is protected from things getting into it. The woods that I wear this in is usually a very sandy environment and it gets under the buttons of other watches...but not this one. I love the strap and the size. I love the negative display. Casio knows that the negative displays are not as "at a glance" visible as the positive ones. I have no trouble reading the time, or any other information. When there isn't enough light I use the backlight (solar powered batter! Use that backlight all you want!). If you don't like the negative display, Casio makes models without it. I prefer it as I like the styling of the green and black. It also has an auto backlight feature that I use when my right hand is holding something and I can't let go to press the button at night. I like the wider strap and larger buckle, as well as the metal keeper. Some people don't like that the brushed steel on the keeper can get scratched...but...it's a G shock....soo...I'm good. The buttons and screwed are also brushed so they aren't all that shiny, but the buckle is polished. None of this is really a problem for people who say it makes it less tactical because you would wear you sleeve over it if that were your goal. I do, although I don't find it necessary under most conditions with this watch. Another problem people have mentioned is that it's so big that doing something like pushups can put back on it enough with the back of your hand that it may damage it or just be very uncomfortable. When I'm working out, or riding my bicycle, wearing this watch I just loosen the strap by one notch and there is plenty of room for it to move around while I do my pushups or whatever. The buttons are also nice to push. So. Satisfying. Oh, yeah. It didn't take long to get the watch to a full charge and it has never dipped down below that, even though I do not wear it all the time and am also often indoors. On my days off I wear one of my favourite mechanical watches that don't get to come to work with me and this one sits in a drawer. Doesn't seem to make a difference. I find the readings from the sensor features to be very accurate. I especially use the compass (Accurate enough when you're lost in the woods or even just orientating yourself to follow directions or instructions in the woods), and the barometer. I find the Baro alarm (to inform you of sudden changes in pressure) to work very well. I especially like to know if a storm may be coming and this has helped a lot. It is also very light, not even just light for its size...just light. it's slightly heavier than other g shocks but that is likely due to the extra equipment inside and the metal buttons. Still light enough to wear all day in the head, swim with, run with, etc. I love it. It may be the best G shock ever made.
