For the price and for my particular use (I am not a professional carver – just like fiddling around with different chunks of wood and mainly making a mess – per my wife), I really am quite pleased with this knife. Perhaps if I took my carving and self more seriously I would invest in a more expensive knife or a set of specialized knives but for my needs this one if fine and dandy. The knife is sharp right out of the box but I have my own preference for blade angles so I did a bit of work of the sharpening stone...this is all relative though and after spending over seven decade I pretty well now what works for me but not necessarily works for others. Knives, all knives of all different used are such personal things that few, if any, will find a cutting instrument 100 percent to their satisfaction right out of the box...that is just the nature of knives. Now don’t get me wrong. The Old Timer knives have changed a lot over the years and none of the changes have been for the better. What you buy now is not the same knife you bought 40 or more years ago. It is sad but true. Knives are like most things and sort of have gone to hell in a hand basket especially those by this particularly company. Due keen in mind that the blades of this knife don’t lock which is not a requirement (actually I fee it is a hindrance) for knives I use for whittling/carving with but do keep this in mind for safety sake. I like the thickness and length of the hilt as it gives me more power and some of the more light knives I have used. All in all though I am satisfied with this knife and do like the price for what I am getting.

Das kleine Teil ist einfach Klasse. Man hat mit ihm gleich mehrere Schnitzwerkzeuge, die im Übrigen alle super funktionieren, immer am Mann (wenn man es benötigt ;) ). Lediglich die Schärfe der einzelnen Klingen im Auslieferungszustand gibt Anlass zur Kritik. Deshalb einen Stern abzuziehen finde ich aber übertrieben, da man ja ohnehin ab und an mal nachschärfen muss. Ansonsten ist die Verarbeitung Top und macht einen wertigen Eindruck. Ich denke mit diesem Werkzeug werde ich viel Freude haben und ne Mene "Zeug" an langen Abenden am Lagerfeuer schnitzen. Für den Preis ein super Werkzeug! Klare Kaufempfehlung!
