Cute Co-op Game!
The Fairy Game by Peaceable Kingdom is a cute game! My 3.5 year old really enjoys playing this game. The first day we opened it we played it 6 times in a row and she asks to play it everyday. I don't get sick of it either, which is great for me! my 7 year old son wasn't too excited to play "The fairy Game" at first, but at the end of the game he said, "That was really fun, mom!" Needless to say it is a favorite! The object of this cooperative game is to collect all 4 colored jewels before Mr. Winter freezes the flowers. If Mr. Freeze gets 4 snowflakes on any 1 flower he wins. If you, as a group, can collect all 4 jewels before a flower is frozen then you win! Co-op games have been a really big hit in our family. It's great to play with each other instead of against each other for a change. It has taught them teamwork. For ages 5+ (But my 3.5 year old picked it up just fine. She needed a little more help the first few rounds, but does great now.) 2-4 Players 15 minutes Game includes: Game board - A nice, sturdy board with cute artwork 13 Snowflake tokens - sturdy tokens with a cute snowflake 57 Fairy garden cards - 35 fairy, 3 unicorns, 4 wands & 15 mr. winter. Thick card with cute artwork on both sides. 4 Jewel tokens 44 Snowstorm cards 1 Box - Very cute artwork and sturdy. The instructions are built in on the lid of the box. It's very convenient! Overall this is a fun game. Peaceable Kingdoms makes their games with kids in mind. The quality of all their games prove that. I would recommend this game to my family and friends for their 3-8 year olds!

Great game for kids, not a trial for an adult either!
Bought this for my four and a half year old daughter, and she loves it. We play it nearly every day and multiple times each time we pull it out. And the mechanics are so much more exciting for an adult than Candy land. I jokingly called this โbabyโs first strategy gameโ since unlike most games aimed at 4 years, player choices affect the outcome (though with a healthy dose of luck) - we win just over half the time, and most of our losses are pretty close, another turn or two and we would have won. And since itโs a cooperative game, we lose together, which lets me model for her the appropriate reactions to a loss - disappointment rather than anger. It was a quick pick up too - the first play through I had to tell her what to do each turn, and play two she kept asking me to confirm, by play 3 she was making her own decisions - sometimes not the best decision for the team, but hey, thatโs a lesson too! If you have a 4 year old who loves games and is ready to move to actually making decisions in games as opposed to just riding a brightly colored luck rail all the way to the end - I definitely recommend this game!

Four Year Old Niece Loves It
This is incredibly sturdy for a board game, a super cute concept, pleasing design and very cooperative. Gave it to my niece for her 4th birthday and she is obsessed with it. We make it more fun by sending the triplets (three of a kind fairies) "to bed" (discard pile) with kisses and Mr. Winter with a request not to come back. She thinks its hilarious and adds clever little things like the three fairy cards physically pushing the gemstone into the magic wand and crossing her fingers before each draw. It's a quick game so doesn't take a large time investment. We haven't played it with other kids yet, but have played it with Grandma and Aunts and it is bearable for mom and other adults to endure. Some kids games can be so tedious. (I mean this one will get tedious eventually (she asks for it every single day) but the prettiness of it helps...Five stars. Wish there were more kids games likes this. For sure get it for the young'uns in your life.

Impressive quality and playability
This game blew me away. It's more expensive than I usually spend on kids games (as they are a fan of losing piecing and bending everything up). No regrets though! When we first got the game my daughter was 3 and my son was 5. They learned it in a few minutes and we loved playing as a quick family time before bed. My husband and I are thrilled with how it's truly cooperative, and is over in about 15 minutes. Ideal for short attention spans. The quality of the board and cards and box are among the best we own. Great gift, great for siblings. Now my kids are 4 & 6 and play by themselves or with friends. Slam dunk purchase.

A little to complicated for young kids
I first got the [[ASIN: B004HVKAAI Hoot Owl Hoot]] game here on amazon, and really loved it (although I did buy different game pieces and used a spinner app rather than the cards.) I really liked that it put the players on a team versus the game itself rather than versus each other. I work with kids, some of whom are on the autism spectrum and some of them simply do not handle losing very well. I do try to incorporate some little disappointments (such as losing a game) into their therapy as it is indeed a skill they need to acquire, but they don't need to do that every day. I have had kids up to 4th grade love that game. Anyway, since that was such a hit, I went back and got this. I thought it would be another great game where the kids didn't compete with each other. Well, this one isn't really as simple and cute as that Owl one. You have to get all 4 jewels before Mr. Winter freezes the flowers. If Mr. Freeze gets 4 snowflakes on any 1 flower he wins. If the team can get the jewels before that, the team wins. There are all kinds of different cards with fairies and snowflakes and unicorns and jewels and it just isn't simple. As an adult, I couldn't just look at the pieces and figure it out...I had to read the rules (twice.) I like when the games are more intuitive for kids. Also, I don't really like paper pieces. I appreciate that paper is the most eco-friendly, but for my use (with many kids sharing the game,) the pieces get ripped, bent, dirty, etc. really quickly. I will have to create my own rules for this...sigh. I might buy little acrylic gems and plastic snowflakes (though they are a choking hazard if you have young or "mouthy" kids, I don't) and change the cards to some sort of spinner app. Even I would rather put a shiny little snowflake or gem on a board than a cardboard drawing of them! :) I probably could have done that without buying this at all, but I didn't know that until I got it. Plus the game board is cute and I don't mind patronizing a brand where they created the idea. I won't get rid of this as I like the winter theme and the cooperative nature of it, but feel (at least for my use) it needs a lot of modifications to make it more simple and visually motivating.

This is one of our favorite games to play
This is one of our favorite games to play. The object of the game is to collect all the jewels from the flowers and place them in the wand in the center of the board before any of the flowers freeze. You shuffle the cards and each player takes one card at a time from the stack, so each player has their own hand of cards, up to a limit of 5 cards at a time per player (if you already have 5 cards, you have to choose one you already have to discard before picking another card). You collect a jewel by getting 3 fairies of the same color flower and jewel. Unicorn cards allow you to give one of your cards to another player (so if one player has 2 pink fairies and another player has one pink fairy and a unicorn, that person can use their unicorn to give the pink card the the other player so they now have 3 pinks and can collect the pink jewel). Wand cards allow you to remove one snowflake of your choice at any time. Mister Winter cards require you to draw a card from the colored snowflake stack and place a snowflake on the corresponding colored flower. When any flower has 4 snowflakes, the flower is frozen and the game is over. I like this game because, since each player has their own hand of cards, it's a cooperative game in which you are doing more than just taking turns doing the exact same thing as the other players, if that makes sense. Usually we just have 2 players, but we've played with 3 and I've noticed it is more difficult and requires a little more strategy since the cards are spread to more players (like instead of one person getting 2 pinks and the other getting 1 pink and a unicorn, with 3 players, each might have a pink, making it harder to trade and consolidate). I'd imagine 4 players would be even more difficult. But it's still a great game and one of our favorites.

Our 4 yo absolutely loves it
This is how you make a little board gamer! We tried some board and card games before, some were loved, some were okayed. This one was an absolute hit from first go. We played in a group of 5, 4 of which were grown ups, but all had great fun. The rules are very easy and quick to understand, and the game develops strategic thinking even in 4 year olds. And it's cooperative which removes the kids frustrations when they lose.

Cute theme, but not that exciting
We love cooperative board games and peaceable kingdom have some great ones. We picked this one because it felt a bit different from your typical 'move pieces around the board' game. The aim is to collect four coloured gems (by collecting sets of matching-coloured fairies) to power a magic wand before Mr Winter manages to freeze the garden by putting snowflakes on the flowers. This game is 100% luck. You win or lose based on which order the cards come out of the deck, and there's no opportunities to make any real decisions or use even basic strategy. It doesn't give that satisfying feeling of achievement when you win because the game basically plays itself and you just move the bits around as instructed. It might work for very young children but even my seven year old seems a bit old for it. We much prefer Hoot Owl Hoot (which lets you talk through your choices and plan ahead in a very simple way) and Dinosaur Escape (which has a memory matching element) from peaceable kingdom - both still very easy beginner co-operative games but which feel more engaging.
