Can it improve grip on my otherwise shiny laptop? Is this smooth or textured?

This skin is smooth. I don’t think it would add grip to a laptop.

The cover covers only the top of the laptop.

Where are the instructions to cut it down to 13.3" size? There are no perforated lines or directions included to cut it

I did not receive any instructions but stuck it ti my laptop and used an xacto knife to trim it
